Sorry guys. I’ve been snoozing on this one. Been busy having an affair with my MV Augusta Brutale 800RR Dragster.

Also been piecing together a learner track bike for my buddy’s son.

And lusting after a Ducati 748 track bike.

I will get back to the Hot Mess. I promise.

How can you not have a love affair with a sexy Italian, Don.  I hope she isn't the  jealous type.  Very nice...

The 748 needs some TLC.  It presently has a strange glitch under hard load between 5K and 6K RPMs where the power cuts out and then snaps back on.  I was giving it a test ride and it did this powering out of a turn, causing the rear to break free and start coming around.  This needs to be addressed likely by tuning or it could cause a brutal high-side.  The bike pulls surprisingly well for a 748cc bike though and its extremely well-planted.  It does not have a slipper clutch, TC or ABS -- very analog and grunty.  I was hoping to take it out at Big Willow (Willow Springs Raceway tomorrow) but not with this current issue.

Yes, I do. She's been on the back burner for a long time. I decided to complicate things by converting the chassis to a mono-shock set up.

Yes, in a way.

Here's the chassis in its present state: de-tabbed, with a CMR boxed chromoly swingarm.

The bike will have a 2013 GSX-R600 Front End with a Cognitomoto triple:

The mono-shock and new frame geometry will be adapted from my friend Bryan aka Blacbikes' 550 mono-shock build - with the suspension jointly developed with Matt Wiley at Racetech
