hello for all!
like to share my biggest project of all time. you can see more pics and some story about it on below link to my blog.

I supposed to make some renewal things but project actually explodes in hands and have ideas to make some kind of cafe racer or something

Andy,

Welcome to the forum.

It looks like you picked up a 1977 CB750K in decent shape, with a partial dual disc conversion. Is it running? Before undertaking a rebuild, it is a good idea to get you bike running safely and reliably and assess which systems need work to safely function.

Your post indicates that you want to take the project in a café racer direction. Do you have specific things in mind?

First.. sorry about bad english. not using translator every time. If there miss letters or there's too much letters, words are wrong, laugh and try to get point what I'm trying to write..

so..

yep 1.. cross my mind that find somewhere brake caliber to right side and make brakes little bit better.

yep 2.. cafe racer in my mind but this time only outer side. I've done nothing tuning stuff to the engine, brakes or suspension. Everything is stock parts. Only renew worn parts, paint or polish and put back.

it was running bike but little knockin sound in left (1 and 2 cylinder) valves and oil leaking between cylinder and head like shown in pictures. I got head full of special ideas but I don't have money, time or enough tools (like welding machine, lathe or milling machine) to do and I'm father of three so family comes first..

I bought couple of days ago racer style left switch assy (blinkers, horn, lights) and today mini speedometer.. No Idea are they fitting to this bike. wasn't so expensive so I didn't loose lot of money..

this is my style to do bike what looks good for me and I try to do things so far by my self than I can.

Next step is valve timing adjust, holder for tail light, try to lift engine back to frame and fired up before winter. I would say that this is version 1, because handlebar is going to change clip-ons, seat have to make thicker and rear shocks are going to change "fake öhlins"...Maybe(!)... The thing in this fall is fired up the engine and make sure that engine works better than last spring when this project started.

At a minimum, you will want to replace the leaking gaskets and adjust your valves. You may also take the chance to lap the valves and check the wear on the cylinders. You should also do a compression test to see if the cylinders need to be bored and honed.

as you say.. done

in my blog you see that i've done all of that and only valve timing adjust is left to do. This post came later than project start but i'd like to share it here. Front shock absorbers was pieces and new parts are changed. Rear shocks need to check too.

Try to mimic the sectional shape of the tank from a point at the rear, forward. The tank you have has a nice center ridge line and a natural pocket for a taillight if you use a bit of crafting imagination. Your mock-up looks pretty good, but I'd add the filler neck hump throughout for symmetry.
