1977 CB750K Wiring
« on: December 10, 2015, 09:13:46 AM »
So, I've been getting some guidance from a forum member here but he's currently out of town. I was thinking about finally working on the wiring but I really have no experience with this kind of stuff. Anyways, I was told I should get a '76 harness because it would be easier to install/work with. Is there any thing out there showing pic by pic the way to install the harness? I do have the wiring diagrams but I'm not even sure what each color wire on the harness would be. Any help is welcomed! Thanks! :)

Is your wiring diagram not in color?

The parts fiches can be a good source for information too. Here is the basic orientation of the main harness:

Thanks. I do have the diagram as flybox has posted. This wire loom diagram may help me out even more. Where did you find it?

Parts fiches are used by the Honda dealers for online parts lookup. CMSL, Motogrid, Service Honda, DSS, and others.

Yes, get the wrong harness from the K6 for your K7. That's certainly is going to make it a lot easier to connect everything. Who told you that?  Some three-year old? The reason behind such a statement escapes my logic. But then I am not the intellectual type. I would be leaving town too after giving such advice.  I got the K7 wiring diagram. But you already have that--so you say. Well, good luck.

I'm not going to name names as he is a long time member of this forum and has many years of experience working with CB750's. My thought process was to get the K7 harness as well but I was following his guidance. And yes, I do have the K7 diagram.

I personally dont know the differences of the k6 and k7 harnesses but there may have been some modifications you are doing to your k7 that may make more since to use the other harness.... but to me the correct harness would be the way to go.
