Topic: 2017 Man Cup schedule

I'm sure the current participants in the Man cup series have already received notification about the 2017 schedule.  I decided to post it here in case we have new racers interested in the series. The moved Memphis up to a cooler time of the year- thank goodness. We also lost one of the Rock races and it was replaced with the new Galot Motorsports park which is an 1/8th mile track- my kind of racing.

Just one question, where do I get a 78 tooth rear sprocket?     

Lol Wilbur. You don't have to be quick to win in the 1/8th but your light and a consistent ET becomes even more important. No room for making up a mistake in the 1/8 mile. It's a riders race.

How many links do I need in a 530 chain, 16 front, 78 rear with a 2" longer (79 DOHC) swingarm?   

How much do I have to grind off the centerstand to clear the new chain path for the 78 tooth sprocket?   

How far do I have to extend the chain guard (both up and to the rear) to clear a 78 tooth sprocket?   

What chain lube should I use for such a long chain? 

Can I use an aluminum chain to help reduce weight?

I'm glad to see you making comments about the 2017 season. I'd say it means you're hooked .I'm really  Hoping we will see a few new faces racing SOHC's this season.

Due to a work related issue, I may not make the first race of 2017. I'll have to make my final decision as we get closer to that date. I'm still pushing ahead to get the mono shock F model ready for next year also. The plan was for my older brother to race that one but it seems he's got a potential health issue that could derail things. I'm praying all will pan out for him even if it excludes racing.

Glad you stuck with it Wilbur. Now if we can just get other people to join us they would also realize how much fun you can have competing in this sport.

I have to have a bike that's operating properly BEFORE I go to the track.  The logistics for me are more than difficult from Colorado and worse from Costa Rica.  MAY be back 3/28?? so that'll make April difficult to even attend.

Got my Medicare so the previous insurance issue is solved. Kid wants to do her own thing so that's now a mostly non-issue. Gotta figure out what I want to do when I grow up now. Social security in a couple months. C.R. 1/3 - 3/28. Sell house? Homeless. Retire! but when? sooner than later. Travel the circuit for a year with the bikes behind the Vette? Move to an island or central America. Details details details!!

I know a M/C mechanic Eric who's driving his red Chevy 3500 'dually' towing his Kaw. GPZ1100 nitrous drag bike down to Valdosta from all the way up here in SW PA. That's his 'vacation' from work. I hope he enjoys the ride and the track.

I don't know enough about dragracing to understand the exact class;Eric Thomas is his name & he's a man who's done lot's of racing around here(he lives in Mt. Pleasant,PA.)locally.He and his dad had a local Kawasaki dealership for yrs. and now he has a shop right next to his house where he stays very busy;he calls it 'the Kaw Shop',but he works on many makes and brands.I've brought him a few cranks to rebuild and he set them up to work very well.I hope he enjoys himself and runs well.  Bill H.
