One more update to the patina bike. I have located a nice set of HM300's from member Dave in Ohio. Will be getting those in a week and installing on the bike. Currently I have 341's on the bike while testing it out. I just could not see selling this 69 with 341's on it. Wanted to get it OEM. A big thanks to Dave for working with me on this set of pipes.

Hey Johnie, you can solve your pic posting issues if you just go to a picture hosting website, other than Photobucket anyway. Once you upload them there, you can post links to them on this website. And any other forums you frequent for that matter. It makes it easier to organize them online in one place, not to mention it's another place to have a copy of photos in case the laptop/pc dies.

I'm very new to all of this. Being that you have tuned and have been running the bike with the 341's, will you have to adjust the carburetors when you install the 300's? How different are the two sets of pipes, performance-wise, from one another?

The 300's are less restrictive and more open than the 341's. I would not have to sync again, but probably will toss the Morgan on to see where it is at. I would be surprised if anything would change.

Got the original HM300's on today. The chrome is really nice and I did some minor patching which Dave told me about. I must admit the right side gave me a fit as the drain connection between 3 & 4 mufflers did not line up perfectly. I adjusted them over and over and just could not get it perfect. Glad the connection is rubber. So again thanks to Dave in Ohio for selling me the pipes. Could not let this 69 go with 341's...it would have been sacrilegious. Here are some pics of the finished Patina Bike with 12,008 miles on it. The PO used some caustic on the tank interior so it lost some paint by the gas cap. Plan is to get a few more miles on it when the snow is gone here in WI. I will then offer it on this forum for sale. I don't need two 69 blue green bikes in the stable and would like a forum member to have it. Not sure on the price yet, but watch for it in the for sale section in spring.

The K4 I got a few years ago Johnie has the same issue on one side of the tank to. What a shame because other than that the tank is near perfect.

Fantastic work and great looking bike. The tank is the tank, and I think it's better left original - just my opinion.

I'd like to know more about the patching you did on the exhaust pipes. I have a set of pretty nice HM341's for my K1 that have some small holes that will probably not be detectible when mounted on the bike. I'd like to patch them if it's possible. I know the HM341's are wrong for for a K1, but they're all I have at the moment and I have much to do on the bike that requires money

I hear you about the K1 and 341's. My current project is a K1 too. All I have is the 341's and will use those until I can source some 300's. The patching I did was JB Weld and a Honda mechanic gave me some chrome heat resistant tape. I did the JB first, let it cure and then covered it with the chrome tape. Actually looks pretty good and it is in an area you can't see. I use JB on the small holes, but have a good welder for the larger stuff. I was lucky as the actual drain holes and bottom of the pipes is really good showing good chrome.

Was it the high heat JB Weld? I have a small hole in my 550F muffler I need to plug.

Yes, that's the one Stev-o. I also sand the area a little with the Dremel so the JB has a good spot to bite. Also found if you mix the JB and apply it to fast it will run. I like to let the mixed compound sit a bit so it's not so runny.

I have also used JB Weld on my HM300 for pinholes at the rear and has held up for 10+ years with no issues.

Johnnie: Id love to buy your bike - please let me know how much you are thinking? Very interested! I probably cant afford it but never hurts to ask!

Shoot, it's kind of cool (with a little clear over). The compound helped bring back the pop of the paint, too.

So the time has come for me to list this bike in the For Sale section. I will reference this build thread for anyone that's truly interested in the bike. I do not plan to wage a bidding war on this forum. I will get my receipts together and list a price in the for sale section hopefully by the end of this week. Thanks again for all your input and suggestions along the way. Truly hope someone on the forum can find a great home for the patina bike. What's next? The gold K1 which is on the lift and will be my winter project. Already started a build thread in the project section of this forum.
