JIS bit
«

Does anyone know where a guy could buy a 3/8 drive JIS "Phillips" bit? The PO puke drove the cam cover screws with what must have been an air impact wrench.

All over the interwebs...ebay, amazon, etc....
Vessel even has the Impacta Line of JIS screwdrivers.

I have a #$%*load of JIS Vessel screwdrivers. I'm looking for a bit that fits on a 3/8 drive ratchet handle with a JIS cross bit on the business end. The Impacta Vessel screwdrivers are not cutting it. I need to use an impact driver and not screw up the screws further with an American Phillips bit.

If the JIS drivers on hand are not cutting it, drill off the heads and be done w it

Use the bits linked to above with a true impact driver. The "impact screwdrivers" are not as heavy duty as a true impact driver.

I found and purchased all sizes of these from motion Pro on Amazon.
Only 1/4" drive size, but I used a standard 3/8 to 1/4 adapter in a 3/8 hand impact driver I've had for years.
And they fit all my other screwdriver handles.

A #3 Apex bit works perfectly. Available at Lowes or Home Depot.

Search for vessel 2500 impact on ebay. I bought mine for $12 with all the bits. The vessel impacta screwdrivers are nice, however they won't loosen the stubborn ones.
