Is anyone planning to attend this race? Its only 45 minutes from my house so you know we'll be there.

I'm planning to race the F3 in street ET, but will also compete in street fighter on my no bar KZ1000, top gas on my car tire Kaw and the super comp class on my small tire Kaw. The wife will do her usual and enter Pro ET on her dragbike.

Hopefully someone else will show up with an SOhC at this race. It seems Wilbur and I are the only ones still hanging in there on these old bikes.

Alas, I will not be able to attend. My workload has got me working 50+ hours per week with no end in sight. I really wanted to make this event, especially since I have family in Raleigh. Best of luck to both you and Gladys this weekend, I'll be following on Dragbike.com if they stream the event. I'm not too distraught over missing this event what with ManCup changing the rules midseason. Seems that since I missed the Ohio event my points from the NHRDO event in Gainesville are null and void. The fact that they are charging racers for parking (at Valdosta at least) on top of their gate entry doesn't sit well with me either. Seriously rethinking my participation in this series and will likely be focusing more on local events.

Wilbur, I copied and pasted the below excerpts from the Man Cup info page. If I'm reading this correctly, our points from Gainesville should still count unless there is a cancelation of any of the remaining races this season for reasons of rainout, hurricane..... As to all the extra fees and the way Jay is running the series now, I'm in full agreement with your decision to NOT run the Man Cup next years. I've been racing in the XDA series this season along with some local events myself because I'm very dissatisfied with the downward spiral Man Cup has taken in the last few years. Odds are we will only do a few next season- the SGMP events. Its my opinion that this series will fail in the near future unless positive changes are made by current management to benefit the racers and not the promoter- and we all know that will not happen.

Don't forget the KOG event at Bradenton in December. I will stay in touch with you as the time gets closer in.

Wish me luck this weekend fellas, I'm going to need it.

::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

Due to these unforeseen incidents, Man Cup wants to be proactive by implementing several rules to benefit our racers. These rules are to protect our racers from losing out on their points, due to circumstances beyond our control. With racers taking off time from work and traveling all over the country, it is imperative that a canceled event will not skew their position int he points chase.
1.All racers attending the Man Cup World Finals will receive points and a half in all classes.
2.If any Man Cup event during the season is not contested, for any reason, the World Finals will automatically accelerate to a double point-earning event for all classes.
3.If any Man Cup event during the season is not contested, for any reason, any Man Cup point earnings at an alternative event, like the NHDRO, will become null and void. Point earning will only be kept from actual Man Cup events, and the ability to drop an event will also be void.

I thought this meant that if an individual failed to contest any ManCup event that they would lose any non ManCup (alternative) points. I haven't ruled out participation at ALL events, just that I'm not inclined to go to any extraordinary measures to compete at every event.

I'll try looking ahead to December. If I don't compete maybe I'll have my street bike back together and at least be able to ride over and "work the pits"!  8)

I'll ask Jay to clarify that statement when I see him tomorrow. I dropped my trailer off this afternoon and saved a few spaces.

Dropped my big trailer off at the track yesterday evening.  Wow, there's a very light turn out for this event. I'd honestly say it seems no more than 150 bikes are on the property right now. I didn't see any pro street bikes and only 2 top fuelers showed up. Unless a deluge of bikes roll into the track this morning,  this event is a failure in terms of racer support.  This isn't looking good for Man Cups longevity.

Hey Frank,

Thanks for the support from Gladys and you this past weekend at Darlington.  It was much appreciated.  If anyone on this forum wants to know what happened, I will gladly let you explain.  I agree with you about ManCup having big issues, least of all, poor support from the racers.  I too, am weighing my participation in next seasons events.  XDA  and NHDRO is just too far for me to travel to since moving to Florida.  Plus, I am not going to rewire my bikes to remove the delay boxes because of one organization. It is sad to see this happen.  Hope to see you both in Rockingham.
I'm not as smart as I look, but I am pretty.

Will post a you tube link later. Left us with a bad taste for the series in this particular situation.

I'm pretty sure this you tube video sums up my frustration with the Man Cup series. IF you have rules, follow them.

I went into the tower on behalf of David Fletcher to get a better understanding of why they were requiring a rerun.  I showed Jay Regan his own rule regarding crosstalk being on at all times, with no option for a racer to request it be turned off. He basically dismissed me and the written Man Cup pro ET rules laid out before his own eyes. I walked out of the tower in disappointment at his disregard for proper enforcement of the rules. Vindication came to an extent when David turned on the win light for the rerun. I have little tolerance for skating the rules to please a small segment of the racers. Integrity is important!!

The wrong way return of the other rider should have gotten him escorted off the premises immediately.  >:(

Good on you and Dave for staying focused and putting the other rider on the trailer... twice!  8)

By Tuesday morning,  Jay had edited his rules to allow a rider to opt out of the use of cross talk.  Mind you,  this option was not in place  ( per his written rules) prior to, or on that race weekend.  He changed it after the fact.

Revisionist history is similar, twisting things to someone’s desires...

You presented your side/view well Frank.

Well, it was interesting to see a bike do a Uturn on the track and it be quickly forgiven with no apparent Consequence for that cardinal sin being violated. First time I have ever seen it happen and probably the last time.

I'm going to give Man cup another chance. We're going up to the Rock this weekend so I can race my no bar KZ in super eliminator. I'm hoping to set a new record in the B/PS class. This is a national record and has nothing directly to do with the Man Cup organization, except the venue. We'll race other classes at the finals in November but odds are, we will wait until the 2020 finals to be involved with Man Cup again- if its still operating at that  time.
