That reminds me of a true story from my murky past. Back in the 80’s I had to drive a mate out to an Army base early in the morning. Back then, before driving a military vehicle you had to do a “First Parade Service” on the vehicle, checking the oil, coolant, etc etc.

It was dark and I had to have a couple of go’s to get the dipstick of the Ford XF “Ute” back in. Whenever we went over a speed hump, or bump in the road, we heard a scraping sound, Dave asked me what I thought it was, and I suggested that it might be a dry suspension bush?

Anyway when we got to the unit the transport NCO needed to use it, so I handed over the keys. He came back with a big schidt eating grin on his face, holding up the dipstick, which was now an inch or two shorter. Seems I missed the hole completely and poked it through a hole in the front subframe….. ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

"Crazy is a very misunderstood term, it's a fine line that some of us can lean over and still keep our balance" (thanks RB550Four)

Most people don't know that back in 1912, Hellmann's mayonnaise was manufactured in England. In fact, the Titanic was carrying 12,000 jars of the condiment scheduled for delivery in Vera Cruz, Mexico, which was to be the next port of call for the great ship after its stop in New York.

This would have been the largest single shipment of mayonnaise ever delivered to Mexico. But as we know, the great ship did not make it to New York. The ship hit an iceberg and sank, and the cargo was forever lost.

The people of Mexico, who were crazy about mayonnaise, and were eagerly awaiting its delivery, were disconsolate at the loss. Their anguish was so great, that they declared a National Day of Mourning, which they still observe to this day.

The National Day of Mourning occurs each year on May 5th and is known, of course, as Sinko de Mayo.

I did not care for milk for quite some time but now we buy organic from Costco or BJs and the difference in taste is amazing.
