Ozzy, nice Mach 1 and is that an Eliminator in the background? 8)

The yellow one is a 1970 XR7  with a 428CJ ram air.
The blue one is a 1970 XR7 convertible 351C 4V

Thank you all

I had a 1969' XR7 vinyl top,back in 1980 w/ a 351W FMX trans and 2.79 rear gears.
Did they upgrade the suspension,etc. for the1970 model/year ?

Pretty much the same suspension in 1970.  Definitely sub standard to todays standards. The big block car has a rear sway bar and a beefier front sway bar.

I imagine it is very difficult to work in there with the cold;good for you, that you have some heat.

I've got to take take a Pic again soon but I'm cleaning my garage up and trying to organize to get the bikes ready this year. Rolling the honda off its lift to put a road king on. After the road king is done the honda goes back on. The sporty is getting a true hardtail this year so its getting cut in have. Ordered the kit from throttle from throttle addiction.

I'd like to get my Etsy store back up and running.

View out my shop windows. Look closely….. Normally I don’t need lights on such a bright and sunny day. There’s +3’ on the ground and what slid off the roof.

Oh my! Everyone needs a focal point in the shop to stare at for a while or so , that 1914 wanderer looks like just the ticket.
I can't help to wonder how many guys have just pulled up a chair and just stared over the years , since 1914 it must of had a bunch of lookers.  Very nice.
A few Honda 500's, a few Honda 550's, a few Honda 650's, '72 cb 450, a couple 500/550/650 hybrids, and 2001 750.

Bike came with a neat story: 5 years ago a barn was being dismantled in Northern Italy. When the guys started pulling old hay from under the collapsed end of the building, they found the motorcycle. A small part of the magneto and the original cranking mechanism for starting the bike was missing. Seems like the owner hid the bike, went off to war and never came back. The bike was probably buried there for over 70 years. We left it exactly as found……

It’s stuck solid and honestly I’ve restored a few +100 year old bikes (picture of my 1916 Cleveland attached) and lost interest. Huge amount of work and effort for what ultimately gets parked for 99.9% of the time. Spectacular “eye candy” but I prefer to have working, usable stuff. This one will be moving on.

2.5-2.75hp!  I was curious too and looked up the specs.  Motor had only 3[?!] moving parts, and could do 50mph, amazing.

1916 Cleveland Model 1-B was a pioneering lightweight American motorcycle designed as an economical alternative to larger, contemporary V-twins. It featured a 222cc (13.5ci) two-stroke, single-cylinder engine with a unique, longitudinally mounted crankshaft, producing roughly 2.5–2.75 horsepower. It boasted a 2-speed transmission, chain drive, and a top speed around 40–50 mph.

Technical Specifications (1916 Cleveland Model 1/1-B):
Engine: 222cc (13.5 cubic inches) single-cylinder, two-stroke, air-cooled.
Engine Alignment: Crankshaft set inline with the frame (longitudinal).
Power: ~2.5 to 2.75 hp.
Fuel System: Carburetor (usually with a 20:1 oil-gas mix).
Transmission: 2-speed, with a worm gear drive and hand-operated lever.
Weight: Approximately 150-176 lbs (lightweight).
Suspension: Swinging fork (front) with a horizontal spring, rigid (rear).
Brakes: Rear wheel drum brake (contracting band).
Wheels: 26-inch with 36 spokes (wire clincher).
Top Speed: ~50 mph.
Key Design Features:
"Ford" of Motorcycles: Marketed as a lightweight, cheap, and reliable alternative
Unique Design: Contrary to common practices of the time, the engine had only three moving parts (piston, connecting rod, flywheel).
Appearance: Early models often featured a "pure white" finish.

Steve….. Cut away of gearbox and final drive. At the left end of the shaft was a flywheel with the connecting rod pinned to the outer face (no crankshaft). Magneto was driven off the other end of the main shaft..
Brilliantly simple.
