Will add one short video from last Sunday. I love riding this bike  ;)

That is an angry sounding 550 Erny. Nice form on the turn.

Rolled the K4 "Big Bang" bike out last Friday for a Happy Hour ride....

It was a beautiful day, bike was running good, having a nice ride and all of a sudden the rear end felt a little "squirrelly"!  After about 5 seconds, I knew what the issue was and didnt even bother about pulling over, had a flat tire.  I turned around and headed back to the house but after a quater mile or so,  it seemed a little dangerous, I pulled the bike over and called my wife to rescue me....

Once home it didnt take long to find the issue, damn nail in the tire.  This Bridgestone BT45 is over 7yrs old, been a great tire, but is done now.  A new tire and tube ordered.  BTW - $111 shipped from Amazon seems to be a good price for the BT45.

Wow love the paint Stev-o!! Really pops. What colour is it?

I know all about rear tire punctures (and front) - must have had 10+ on the 750. Never fun when it happens and you always know....thats a great price on the BT-45 - been running them for years. Good solid tire.

And yes 11 years since I started this thread - glad to see its still going strong. I have now been on this Forum since 1999  8)

Great video Erny!!

cheers
Andy

Hey Andy...not sure exactly what color, bought the tank and covers from fellow member Kyle a few years back, he painted it in his garage. It was an offshoot of Sunrise Orange, but obviously darker.
I like it especially since noone else has it!

BTW - did you ever get an original K2 seat for your bike?

Stev-o, I ended up getting a K2 replica from DSS. Not quite as good as the original but will have to do for now.

300 mile loop yesterday out to Western Mass (Rt116 to Rt8A/Rt112) and then Vermont. Bike ran great all day whether it was on dirt roads, country roads or highway. Big smiles!

Rivers are all full...nice sound

I love that bike! I did an 80km ride and I noticed a fork seal leaking. I'm waiting for news seals to arrive.

Thanks grcamna2!

Yes, 2005 GSXR 600. I didn't rebuild them when I build my bike but now it's time. Fork seals are leaking and I lost ground clearance with the 4 into 1 exhaust. When I turn right, the exhaust is hiting the ground  :o

Another trip to the Warragul Post Office (via some hills).  Didn't see any snakes today, but halfway down a steepish hill there was a cow standing in the grass at the side of the road...

I made it to Chelsea today, my first good ride of the year.
My Honda is a 71 K1, you know the specs, yes?
The NS 5823 is an EMD GP 38-3, switching grain cars for the Jiffy plant. There's usually Amtrak here during daytime, making 79mph. The reduced Amtrak schedule lets the local in these days.
The GP 38 has a V16 diesel and 2000HP, 2500 gal fuel tank, 40" wheels, 130 tons, 65mph tops.

Maui, you have a very nice ride as well.
Do you make all your rides on your home island?
Is there a convenient ferry?
I have never been to Hawaii.

I have never been to Hawaii.

Kevin - Hawaii is awesome, you should have it on the list for places to visit, but not this year.

I was there years ago to the island of Oahu, rented a Honda and circled the island twice, it was unforgettable!

There isn’t a ferry. There was one but they did not do an EIS prior to starting it and got in a lot of trouble. Running a high speed ferry here is very difficult in whale season, impossible to keep from injuring whales and they come here to calve.
We ride on Maui which is a leisurely sight seeing ride. Groups sometimes get together and share a container to ship their rides to the Big Island. The roads there are pretty cool, it’s a very large island. It’s not too costly to do that.
Most speed limits here are 40 to 45, with a tiny bit of 55 in a few places but with the vibe here you don’t get that go fast feeling. There are a few Sunday ride groups but they get started too late for us, we like to get out early before it warms up so we can feel comfortable in our jackets and helmets, we have CE armor in the jackets, they are pretty comfy and if you are moving you stay cool.
There is a group of pocket rocket riders that go up Haleakala highway and road race, its pretty scary but they have fun, surprisingly, not many crashes. Some of the drop offs go wayyyyyy down.
Year round riding season.
