weell let's see, your on your first, this morning was hangover. So I call it 6:30 tonight you will either throw up or pass out, on another note I forgot to ask you if you needed hardware for the plate I gave ya, I have a funky setup using a bolt with the head cut off a turnbuckle and another bolt on the end that is locktited together and is long enough to reach in a bolt to the top of the filter box.
Drink on for me, I have to work....

Also after you put down a layer of glass and resin go behind it with one of those .97cent throw away paint brushes to pat all the air bubbles out with, not sure how much you searched on it....

let's see... 7 am + guiness..(um,can I assume you can whip down..let's say....5 or 6 an hour...????? ) so,that will be ...hammerd at 10:45 am... then still drinks 2 more, just to find out that those where just off the limit...so passing out without throwing up I'd say......wakes up on random weird location(toilet floor, hallway, front lawn..) let's say at 3:42 pm...THEN feels pretty sick already but tuffs it out till 4:03 pm when the belly say's "#$%* you, here you got it back..."

so,my bet is at 4:03 pm .....

Marti, I want you to know, I like you an awful lot, but guys have said far less and left wearing their drinks on their shirts.

I have a lamp outside that shines on my bike all night, just so I can stand at the back door and stare at it whenever I want.

As soon as you get to a Maccers for a greasy burger, that normally works for my kids. :D

Staring at your bike lovingly is normal, get used to it. ;D
I think the thing I most like about motorcycling is the speed at which my brain must process information at to avoid the numb skulls who are eating pies, playing the ukulele, applying make-up etc in the comfort of their airconditioned armchairs as they make random attempts to kill me!!!!!!!

That's true luder. You were the first to guess that I wouldn't throw up. So, I guess that means, YOU WIN!!! :o
I did absolutely nothing yesterday, it was kinda yucky out. Well i got up and took a shower, and went to the grocery store at like 6 pm. but other than that, I didn't do anything.

Ok, ladies and gentleman,
I've decided to trash my first attempt at the glass. Not because it couldn't be salvaged, but because I'm having trouble working with it, and I think if I start completely over, I'll have better luck than cussing at the current mess. Hopefully I've got enough dough to go buy what I need in order to do this wed, cause I'm off, but if not I will have to wait until this saturday or sunday. Mind you, this is an attempt to make what I want, custom, and not spend $120-200 smackers. From what I hear, the experience is "priceless" ::)
First attempt:
Supplies & cost:
Blue tape - $0
Chicken wire - $8.50
Resin - $14.00
Glass mat - $6.95
Paint brush - $2.47
Gloves - $3.50
Total: $35.42
Second attempt, estimate of supplies and cost:
Leftover blue tape, resin, hardner, plastic and mat.
Aluminum tape - $6.99
3- 2" paintbrushes - $6.00
3 pairs gloves - $4.50
Releasing wax - $7.00
Total: $24.99
Total between both attempts: $60.41
Total money saved? $89.59 because we all know my time is WORTHLESS.
Pics as soon as I start. Wish me luck. I'm going into a second attempt with the scorn of defeat, and the taste for success.

Laying up Fiber Glass is an art form, and like all great art forms, it's tedious, frustrating, messy, and rarely bares the fruit you originally envisioned!  However, When you finally get it to that perfect shape... it looks "glorious"!

I've been playing with FG for awhile now and out of several attempts, I've had several failures. I'm just trying to encourage you to not give up.  It'll be worth it in the end.

You might try building the seat in foam. Make it look exactly how you want it to and then lay the fiberglass on that. then remove the foam and finish the outside.
