I will post pics tonight or tomorrow.  The side covers will need to be painted as they come with an unpolished albeit smooth and paintable surface.

The "official" color is Phantom Black

Jerry
Is the dark metallic grey called phantom black or is it a different color and this grey specific to the red 76F

Here is my F! Not quite done. Still need to paint it, install my hotrod motor and fix a few issues, including suspension. One of the fork legs is leaking from the axle clamp (not the drain plug), so I guess that I am going to have to get a new fork bottom and re-powdercoat. This motor is a 73 with 823 pistons and a Kenny Harmond cam. Runs great, but is tired and smokes quite a bit. I'm not much for naming mechanical objects, but for now I call it "Old Smokey".

Oh, and before anybody asks where I got the rearsets, I made them because manufacturers seemed to leave out the 77/78f models when they were thinking of making after market rearsets.

How willing would you be to make copies of those rearsets? And for what price?

Looks real good man.  What tail section are you using?  Is it the airtech and if so is the back end open?

Thanks

+1 on the interest in the rear-sets.  They look great and blend-in really well.

Hey Steve,

The Phantom Black is for the 75 & 76 models irregardless of the 4 colors. This info is from my 1975 Honda Parts Catalogue. Just wish we could find Phantom Black. I do have a NOS set of side covers that could be used to match the paint IF we had a good local source to do the matching. I'm not about to send them off considering they cost me 1/4 of what I paid for the bike new and they are irreplaceable!

I love this thread, some great looking F's out there! Mine is a '77, picked it up in April of '08 as a way to save some gas, now it is one big weekend away from going down the road. Didn't do much to the motor but added some early '70's carbs (only until the stock ones can be properly done). Powdercoated frame and other stuff, bearings in the swing arm, closed bearings in the neck, drag bars, different gauges, new custom wiring harness I built, rebuilt master cylinder and calipers, new wheel bearings. I'll make a build thread after I get it out on the road, as the build has been somewhat long and drawn out, as is this post! First pic is shortly after it came home; seat was trashed and had the worst saddlebags ever. Other pic is probably the most recent but somewhat old, 2 or 3 months? My camera takes HUGE pics so these have been resized, hope the look ok.

I really don't have the equipment to produce many of these, and some of the parts (levers and master) are modified parts from other bikes. I might be able to produce some of the plates that would allow for the use of some of the universal sets, or for you to add some type of modern set. I had to modify the lengths of the swingarm pivot and the engine mounting rods to fit correctly.

The tail section is Airtech and it is open in the back. I have a license plate mounted in there.

Thanks for the compliments!

Hmm... I think I like it better the other way.   ;D

Yep! ...and a picture of the rear for Tweak. I think that the optimal position would be about 1.5" back from there current position. That way there would be no need to space the gear shift side to clear the motor, and would allow for clearance for the kickstart lever; which I am going to bend to clear. My positioning was based on where I wanted to put the master and my long legs.Riding the bike, the spacing feels right and fits my legs nicely.

Those carb rubbers have just been discontinued by Honda. They seem to be still available in Canada. PM me and I will call the dealer for you.

Hmm I ordered a set from them around a year ago. Did you talk to Terry he is the vintage guy ?
Here is another link were you can look up the parts and order.
Look under Honda 1977 , Cb 750F and it will start with # 210 then go to the page with parts for head. They aer # 8,9,10,11 and looks like you can order them.
