Holshot, That's a nice little bike shed you made. Looks like it would be cozy to work on one bike with enough room to store 2 or 3. A smaller unit like that would be quick & easy to heat in the winter.

Thanks! That's the plan... I still have to wire her up for electric but it will fit 3 bikes wide in the entrance and the back half will be benches, tool boxes, lift, compressor, ect... I do plan on insulating and finishing off the inside as well so when I throw in a mini-split she stay nice and warm/cool. I'm going to leave my '74 stock/original and not chop her up like originally planned and pick up a basket case ('71) hopefully this weekend to turn into my dream Cafe racer...

Took the throttle apart and removed the cables, lubed them and rerouted them for a smoother pull.  Since I havent got my extended brake line yet the +9 stuff is a little long.  Also lubed the clutch cable and did a little more work on the forwards, the shifter was hanging a bit.

I ordered some universal hand guards for cutting down the wind on my hands on these early mornings!

Pics to come...

Looking forward to see them. I need some for my K2. (Yes, it does get chilly in Las Vegas in winter
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

Finally got the allen bolt out of the bottom of the fork leg. Thanks to all the tips on here, a broom handle and a smack with an impact driver did the trick.

Now just need to know if I can use replacement longer tubes and springs with original legs.

Will be done by Xmas!

I fit my new muffler tonight

How's it sound?

A lot more "throaty" and aggressive. Kinda like a mix of Harley sportster and crotch rocket.

The short answer is yes.  But you'll have to measure for rake angle/steering geometry.  You probably wont be able to use the factory handlebar clamps, and will end up with a cafe racer lookin front end.  Tubes stickin up through the trees clip ons and stuff.

Ha ha, well it depends on how cold you want to be mate, Oz is approximately 50 times the size of Europe, give or take, so you can have cold winters down south where I live, or fcuking hot ones up north where Mick lives, although it does rain a lot up there in the wet season, which is good, becaue it's the only time the smelly bastaards have a wash. True story. ;D

Got fork seals changed on my '74 CB750 and forks remounted and tightened up. Fitted a speedo cable and took the bike for a ride, confirming the speedo works and seems pretty accurate...bonus ! Front end feels good too...double bonus ! It's an awesome feeling bringing back a parts bike others deemed dumpster filler   8)

Good on ya!
Can I have a motorcycle when I get old enough?
If you take care of it.
What do you have to do?
Lot’s of things. You’ve been watching me.
Will you show me all of them?
Sure.
Is it hard?
Not if you have the right attitudes. It’s having the right attitudes that’s hard.

Good on ya!

Thanks !!

This bike was a roller, just frame and engine. No carbs, engine side covers missing. No oil tank, foot pegs, brake parts front and rear, no handlebar controls or switches, no gauges, wiring spliced, some super ugly king & queen touring seat, no cables, rear brake frozen in the hub, cut up rear fender  and whatever else. I sourced all of the parts and put CB750 back together again  ;)

I have been a Brit bike guy for the majority of my motorcycling life, so getting a '74 CB750 from that state to running again seemed a like a bit of a challenge at first but  I adapted pretty quickly and used my parts finding skills and acquired know how to accomplish the mission and a running and riding mostly stock bike is the end result. And, I really like riding it !!

I had ridden a few when I was a teenager in the '80's and was always fond of them since. Trolling CL and right in my town was a '74 CB750 parts bike for $250. I took about 1 nanosecond to reply and contact the seller and the rest is history  8)

Fixed my slides, replaced all my cables, bought some new coils, changed out my spark plugs, oil change, and then drove home. Still working on my 1969 CB750 Diecast. Attaching some recent pics from my shops exposition.

Treated it to a service at a local motorcycle mechanics near work, basically because I am moving house and all my garage gear is packed and I wanted it running well for summer.

And yes, okay - I was feeling lazy too. Sometimes you just want someone else to deal with it.

They found two valve clearances out of eight I had wrong, balanced the carbies, found two loose spark plug leads at the coil end, adjusted the throttle play and gave me back smooth running bike.

Good service for a good price and I had a great ride home.

I don't know how much protection those ones offer, the PO of my BMW R1100GS added additional material to the OEM ones and with the electric hand warmers are nice on a cold day, for sure. Cheers, Terry. ;D

They're more for wind protection. I have nice heavy winter moto gloves, but just keeping some wind blast off my fingers is needed.
