I've seen it, I can't remember who's it is...

I was thinking of adapting an electric speedometer into my stock housing or getting electric gauges and replacing mine completely.

aren't you worried about the rotor not being "hub-centric?" especially with the bolts not being a tight fit through the rotor holes? i would be worried that the rotor would want to walk around and become not centered on the hub.

I think you're right Kit.

nah,
Your (well mine and my friends) sprocket has some walking room on the bolts, but if you center it and torque it down right it won't go anywhere. (at-least mine does)
I think it'll be OK but we'll see
everything I say is pure speculation and

if not a simple "hub-centric" ring could be used. they use then on cars and trucks all the time when changing out rims that are not hub centric. just fit it around the ring on the harley hub and then the ID on the GSXR rotors.

Got an extra few degrees out of the lock to lock today.
It was real short...  made turning the bike around a real pain in the butt and I felt like it would be dangerous to make tight right turns with.
 looked funny too.
I shaved down 2mm on each side of the aluminum doodad I made a few pages back and scooted the tank back the same amount.

I don't know what to do for a speedometer, there's no room for a manual drive...

Why not use one of those snazzy acewell gauges??? Think I may do that rather than redo my originals...

I was all ginned up to run one of those on my bike, but they're damn near $500 per.

That's Motogadget territory, and I would much prefer to run one of those if I'm spending that kind of coin.

they are nice but for the quality VS features, their prices are like a palm to the face...

there was a writeup on that company's gauges here

 this one's cool
autometer 42-0143 $400 (still too much)

I don't really go for the ''single gauge'' look ... unless there's a cool flip-around corvette style projector beam in the place of the other gauge. hmm...

I weighed the front end today
(I'm missing the master cyl still) it rings up at 195.

before it weighed in at 210, so that's 15lbs off, not too shabby.

still not done, and I'm getting itchy!!

I see.
I'm not saying anything bad about the part or price, that's a good retail price for a unique stainless steel part, designed for specific duty.

 I just don't like spending money ;D

Very interesting thread!
I had this idea 25 years ago when I bought a complete modified fork from a Suzuki GS1000 with dual brake discs and a Campagnolo front mag wheel... It's still not mounted on the bike.

I need a good description how you did it, which problems you got...

you have succeeded in confusing me.
the GS1000 fork is quite different than the gsxr1000 fork.

I forgot to mention-

for ease of searching, the bolts for the rotors are 5/16'' X 18 X 1'' [/size] $4.17 at lowes for a "contractor pack" of 10 stainless bolts

and the caliper bolts will be M10 X 1.25 X 80mm

that speedo is slick. I have the speedo on my wheel thing from cycleX, but w/ the new GL dual disk front end I don't think it'll work. I like clean 3trees so I think I need a single gauge like this. mounted in my headlight, maybe? I also can hook up a fuel gauge with the new tank I'm gonna use which has the sending unit. but where to put it? anything that has all this built in? speed, tach, idiot lights, fuel, etc. that doesn't cost an arm and a dick.

the girl in the pic looks like my ex.

Wait - 5/16"-14?

Mine are 5/16"-18.  I got 'em from McMaster-Carr; they were quite a bit more, but they're drilled for safety wire.

HOLY CRAP DUDE!!! I don't know why I said '''''x14...

  I'll change it at once!!

PS safety wire is neat.

did you have to get longer caliper bolts too? I was thinking of the 10x1.25x80mm

I haven't yet, tho it probably is a good idea.  The thread engagement with those spacers is just a bit shy of what I'm completely comfy with.
