Nominate for Bike Of The Month - March 2010
« on: February 02, 2010, 06:54:26 am »
It's Nominatin' Time!

February BOTM Thread - http://forums.sohc4.net/index.php?topic=64225.0

I will let this run until 2/15/10 and then start the voting thread.

I have seen something like the quote below a few times.  It took me a while find this one.  So if I did not grab yours, sorry, this was the only one I could find.  So, if you guys and gals want each month like the last one, here is one you can follow.  It is up to y'all, it is your BOTM.  It is just a suggestion from me.

It's pretty hard to run stock against bobber and chopper against cafe', I'd rather be voting 750 against 750 and 550 against 550 etc, maybe we could do a month for a certain category.
January=750 stock
February=650 stock
March=500/550 stock
April=350 stock
May=choppers (open class)
June=bobbers
July=cafe' (open class)

Anyhow you get the idea, it's just so hard comparing apples and oranges. :)

Remember, save your pics and stories for the BOTM, 15 days can be a long time!  ;D ;D ;D
I don't have a motorcycle, sold it ('85 Yamaha Venture Royale).  Haven't had a CB750 for over 40 years.

Thanks my brothers, but I insist on declining this nomination, as my poor old scooter is not worthy of that honor right now.
It is slowly being restored to its former glory days status, but at this time is just a project... Paint isn't clean, seat is ripped, and there are plenty of updates I'd like to work out, like a chin spoiler, 1/4 fairing, longer KZ tail section with '57 Caddy tail lights (to balance the look due to extended swing arm), oh yeah and build a new big bore stroker motor. Besides, I just sold it's carb to Jleather!
I have most of what I need to keep going on it and will at some point post progress in the build section. Lots of pictures of course.
On resurection day - and with a 200 hp dyno slip in hand - I will THEN be looking for that BOM award!  ;D

The guys with clean, fresh rides deserve the BOM honor for completion of thier projects. The 'TG mobile' is a good example... hey I'm partial to ARD mags.  ::)

This just popped into my head after looking at Squirley's bike again.  Those bars are so low, if I were to ride it, the tank would need a belly dent/relief.   ;D

 My question is about Paul's bie. beautiful job I might add. The attention to detail is outstanding and that engine is AWESOME!

 Now, just how would you class Pauls' bike?

         SOHC4 Cafe?
         CB550 Cafe?
         CB650 Cafe?
         Cb550/650 Cafe?

         OR just plain "Hybrid Cafe"? ;D

  Not trying to cause a stir,as I am (and have been) an avid follower of the progress and details of this bike, since Paul first started talking about what he wanted to do. I think it was quite an undertaking and amazed at how it turned out! Definitely One Of A Kind! 8) ;)
