I work with the local county mounties everyday.  I know almost all of our patrol officers really well, and I will tell you this with the exception of just one or two they all really great guys and women.  I think a few bad cops give all cops a bad name.  My best guess is that the unmarked car probably ended up responding with the marked unit after said rider opted not to stop (I'm willing to bet he saw the trooper sitting in the median).  There is no way he could have missed that patrol car behind him, I'm willing to bet he thought he could out run the cop (but forgot he could not out run Ma Motorola), so I'm willing to guess when he did stop the cops were none to happy with his actions.

I'm not saying that pulling a gun on the rider was right or wrong, but those cops have every right to protect themselves (so they can go home to their families at the end of the day).  There is no way they could have known if that guy ran because he had a gun or warrants or whatever, so they protected themselves against someone who was dangerous and I can't fault them for that.

If the rider had  a gun or warrants or what ever, he would have been hauled off to jail, along with the helmet cam. You can bet they wouldn't have let him have that back with the video still in it's memory.

Wheelie was pretty obnoxious at highway speeds.  Definitely not safe for himself or others.

1:06 marked car on median.

Rider clearly knew that the cop on the median was after him, as he sped up at 1:45 and started flying past traffic.  Then at 2:25 he passed the other cop in the unmarked car.  He cut in front of the unmarked car, then across three lanes of traffic at 2:35 with no turn signal to try to ditch the cops at the exit ramp.

Seems to me he was trying to run, or at least that the police officers were justified to have perceived it that way.

Since he was running, he's fair game.  If he got shot, officer Lucy would have a lot of 'splainin' to do, but I don't think that cops got anything to worry about.

Has anyone mentioned yet that the cop in question is a sawed-off little runt?  Because if they haven't, I'd like to be the first to say he's a sawed-off little runt!

Yeah I can pretty much look at this video and see that the moron on the motorcycle was putting himself and others at risk with his excessive speed on a busy highway while using no turn signals also.  To top it off he flew past a marked unit and was being followed by the marked unit afterward while he refused to stop until he came to the intersection.  But yeah I’m with the rest of ya'll who think all cops are bad and that the bad actions of one means they should all be persecuted.  God forbid they stop people who are a threat to themselves and others, too bad the officers didn't let this moron just keep going and get himself or someone else killed.  Its people like this motorcyclist who cause the public to think all people on motorcycles are law breaking outlaws giving us all bad names, but let’s defend him because he's on two wheels.

OK I saw the little wheelie which ended well before he passed the marked cop. As he passed the marked cop, he was not speeding really as another car was right next to him. You really cant tell and I did not hear audio. It sure appears that the cop in the marked car was not concerned and did not feel the need to draw.

Judging by this one side shown by the helmet cam, there was no need for the cop to pull his sidearm and I am NOT saying this because the rider was on 2 wheels.

Yes the runt was wrong and probly remembered the marked car has a camra on the dash.
The guy on the bike was being a little on the stupid side driving wise also.
Yes, and did you see the look on the "sawed-off little runt's" face when he looked back behind the rider and saw the marked unit (I assume)?  He immediately turned his holster side away from the "possible" dash-cam and holstered the weapon out of sight of the camera.  I read this as he was rethinking his actions once he saw the other officer.  I think this kind of police attitude should be dealt with, and I'm glad it was posted on YouTube for all to see.  And the sawed-off little runt should NOT have gotting out of the car (unmarked) with his weapon drawn...telling the rider to get off the bike three times BEFORE he said "State Police".  I didn't see any kind of attempt to identify himself as a police officer, and anyone can say the words "Police Officer", even Mr Rogers..."can you say "Police Officer" boys and girls?
Just a real dumb move on the sawed-off little runt's part.

ahahaha!
Let's hope he also had the single bullet he was issued, still in his pocket..........but some how I doubt it.

If that rider presented any opposition or objection, he would have been in immediate mortal danger, except for the presence of the marked car.

I wonder how "runtzy" would fell about tire tracks up his front, being the person I am, without any ID and a weapon in his hand I might feel threatened and find out which was faster him or the bike.

Somehow I still think the fact that he was knowingly evading from a marked state police car says the motorcyclist is more wrong in this scenario.  I know if I had a marked unit directly behind me and an unmarked in front of me, I could do the same as any two year old and make the assumption that the guy in plain clothes is also a police officer.  The motorcyclist was placing himself in mortal danger far before any police officer would have by his actions while operating that bike like a teenage kid.

I've met some great cops.

Even some in situations where I was being, eh, escorted to a place of detention.

Doesn't matter. Some dickhead with nothing identifying him as an officer of the law pulls a gun on me, he had better be very careful.

and the point is this one should never have pulled his gun. He should have shown Identification. I hope his hide is nailed to the barn door.

Badge should have been brandished in plain site the way he did with the gun.
Gun should have stayed in it's holster with his hand on it letting you know what COULD happen if Sir Squidly gets like rabbit.

A lot of overreaction on his part there.
