If you have a way to put a lot of pressure on it that would be best, with the JB that is.

bevel the edges way in and build it up with a tig or mig then grind it back to original diameter.

scrap iron is paying pretty good now... might be worth a buck or so over at Schnitzer's.

Lots of tongue-in-cheek suggestions here, but if you think about it, you have a golden opportunity to play a pretty funny practical joke. Just make sure the jok-ee has steel-toe shoes, and is not clamping anything important.

Bad idea, what if the end falls further up the boot, or they don't have steel toes?

I was kidding about the krazy glue, I changed my smiley to wink just to be sure.

Or move the vice farther up the table so it won't fall to the floor, but only fall a couple inches to the table top.

if you cant weld it... dont they have some off the hook epoxy that might have the strength to hold it?
