I think your missing the point of these filters. If you want a ''cool" vintage filter buy a bread box like i posted. you can find them on ebay or on the chopper forum.

ffjmoore, Sorry not in any way trying to insult or anything. TT"s designe is great. I do understand what he is doing. I was not intrested in the "bread box" style. I'm not great at conveying my point very well when typing. But I guess TT's filter with a "mesh" cover like the picture I posted would look "Cool" vintage. Sorry if I came accross in the wrong way and sounded insulting or something. That was not my intentions.

The support wire is on the inside on my filter.  I do understand what your saying, asking, but its not something I would add.  Not to say there aren't people on this forum who couldn't make an overlay for it, if that's the look you want.  Bare in mind there is zero room on the 550.  A surface like that would not do nice things to the frame rails.

Thanks for the report Terry.  Yeah, it's to bad you don't have the in between jets.  Did you up the slow jets as well, and / or make any needle position change?

G'Day Brian, no, I didn't change anything because I wanted to compare the bike's performance with the AP to the previous OEM airbox. (although adding the Yosh pipe probably negated any benefit, as it's a lot freer breathing than the previous 4 into 2) The 120 main jets are my "base line" and I haven't changed pilot jets or needle positions as yet. This will all happen in due course, as I get more miles up on it.

From an aesthetic point of view, it looks really good, but I do like Dennis' suggestion about a decorative mesh cover too. Cheers, Terry.  ;D

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

Terry is that the Yamiya pipe on your bike?

G'Day mate, no, that's an original Yohimura pipe that a friend of mine gave me a year or two back. It was chromed, but the chrome was a bit "tired", so I painted it. Cheers, Terry. ;D

Ha ha, he's a nice guy, but has no idea what these things are worth, he was about to load the pipe and a cast HA 18 inch rear wheel into his truck to take to the dump, he'd bought the pipe new back in the day, and took it off because he wanted to use his centrestand. I was happy to save him a trip to the dump!  ;D

So a quick update for those thinking about coloured stacks.  For wannabridin a 1st look at a red stack. ;)  These are all 550 stacks.  The two blue are from colour tests, the left one will be the standard.

For those with deposits, if you want colour, I need to know now, as black ones are already being produced.

Er...now I can't order one of each fer i r new idot.

That aside. Tintop, do you by chance already have four of the yellows on hand? I ask because I'd like to see them with the filter on a bike. Would that be possible? I have a picture in my mind, and if the product looks like my picture, then I want yellow...if not... then I want a rainbo--er black.

We just made a couple of each as colour samples.  Mainly to get the colour right.  The ones in the picture are the colours I'm going with.  Maybe HedNut, or one of the other members can photoshop something using the blues posted earlier?  I'm on my 'new' computer, and need to add some software still. :(

Hmm, I did not think about photoshopping the image. That would awesome if someone would do that.
I hardly have the time to work on my bikes let alone play with a computer (hence the late night posts~)
