Well, I wrecked.
« on: April 05, 2011, 01:38:17 PM »
If anyone has been wondering why I have not been around. Short story is my front end washed out and then there was a wall. Full gear probably kept me alive.

So I guess the wall won.

Right arm is broke, left hand fingers torn up pretty bad with one dislocated. 11 stitches in my face (not to sure how that happened with the helmet) and a good amount of road rash.

As far as the bikes goes, as soon as I am able to move around I am going to check. I did not have full coverage. If the frame is not tweaked I will try and find a new front end and radiator and go from there. I guess I DID always want a street fighter...

Well, that crash has certainly not had any effect on your ability to write a good story!
Hope you heal up fast, and looking forward to seeing your newly re-created bike.

Sorry to see the carnage :o
Looks like you were accelerating straight for the wall and didn't have time to stop, front end then skidded and you went head over tea kettle straight into it.

Hell, on second look there isn't even a skid mark?

What's the whole story  ???

Is this the bad arm?
Heal up quick, I'm glad it wasn't worse. I almost did that on my Seca in a parking lot once, I just stopped in time :-[

I don't think that is Chris's arm. At first, I thought it might be, swollen and bruised, until I saw the top of the head attached to the arm..

Haha yeah that's the bad arm. I think I was still in "I need to pick up all the pieces to my bike mode" Before the injuries really set in.

As far as the cause, a couple weird things contributed. No cars involved just me. I thought the bike was parked in 4th (was really 1st) and I pulled out of the parking spot. Grabbed a handful of throttle expecting it to lug and it took off. I was not ready so I did not have the brakes or clutch covered. By the time I was on the front it was too late. Wall was real close and of course that side of the parking lot was half gravel. So the front end went down before the wall. Into the curb (ouch) then the wall.

And there you have a very expensive and painful way to tear down a wall.

Dont count me out of the rally yet.
