Gonna try to post, as promised.........................1978 CB750.......HWG..........
Now certainly these pics don't capture the beauty of this bike parked in the garage, but at least I figured out how to resize them!

awesome thread! just spent over 30mins of the boss' time drooling over these great pics.

here's my '76 550f. all stock except shocks (but they're old konis so pretty legit in my books), dual brake discs (OEM parts), and consumables like tires, chain, etc.

and here's an 'on the road' pic, about to get on the ferry to one of those islands off the german coast.

gradually doing some work on it that i'll document in this thread: http://forums.sohc4.net/index.php?topic=134863.0
just minor things to keep it in good shape and nothing that would change it visually.
no cafe-ing until the original parts completely fall apart.

all stock except shocks (but they're old konis so pretty legit in my books),

in Europe, getting Konis was probably the most frequent upgrade back in the 70s (the first ones having red springs though if I remember correctly). I used to see them more often than the original shocks. Dual discs on the 550 were less common, however (I got both upgrades on my 750 as well). Handlebar and seats were also frequently swapped in favor of a Giuliari seat and clubman bars. So yours is by far more genuinely contemporary than if it were all stock. I take it, that license plate is contemporary as well, isn't it? I had to give up my lovely blue CA plate when I went for a personal plate some 25 years ago. No more contemporary now.
Perhaps I see you at one of the Honda CB SOHC Four meetings this year? I will try these two:

Anyhow, really nice bike you have.

hey wobbly, thanks for those meeting links. especially the one in the netherlands i really shouldn't miss. need to put it in my calendar.

you're right, license plate is the original blue dutch one. it's a nice period touch. i think it looks much better on an old bike than the new euro ones.

Some really stunning bikes on this thread! Flatlander, your 550F looks great :)

Here's my 550F2 out enjoying the sunshine:

Pretty much all stock, apart from the exhaust system is a stainless steel copy of the original.

Kinda weird to think that 30 years from now, some future owner of your bike will be posting pictures of it as their pride & joy.  ;)

Beautiful, I'd love an exhaust like that on my 750. I have always loved the way the header pipes look.

where did you get the exhaust from? that's the most original looking non-original one that i've seen so far. i hope i can preserve mine but you never know...

Recently finished restoration on my Z1......

Wow, nice job!   That's my next project.  I've been looking for a Z1B recently and the Blue is my favorite color.
How hard was it to find parts?

Very nice. Looks like you just picked it up new from the dealership.

Thanks! ;) The photo is fairly kind to her, she shows her age a little in real life but that's to be expected as I haven't done much restoration.

Thanks Flatlander, I was very lucky and had the exhaust hand made for me by a friend, it is an exact copy of the original as he used the system that came on the bike as a template. I couldn't believe it when we tried to fit the downpipes for the first time and they all slotted in to the engine easily! :o The guy who did the pipe bending is fantastic.

Steph.
