Awesome build! I'm really interested in your tank and I was wondering if you can post some pics of the right side of the bike? I have a tank that is currently getting built by Benjie for my 76 CB750 S/S with the same set up. He sent me some pics of the tank and I was just wondering what you did with the oil lines to the tank. Below is a pic of my tank and seat setup. Thanks.

Im actually riding it out on my day off tomorrow to meet with a photographer so Ill get some better and more detailed photos. Basically I didnt use the hardlines like benjie made, I used AN fittings and cloth braided oil lines. I also used machined oil line adapters at the engine side that came from cyclexchange. You can then thread in NPT to AN adapters and thats what I did. Im actually already working on phase 2(you know, no project is ever done) and Im going to be making a steel tank and possibly tail to go on the bike along with more details(like rolled seams around the caps and down the length of the bike. Probably staying with the same colors.

Thanks a lot. I am looking forward to seeing your photos. My project is far from being complete. It is still in the early stages. I was thinking the same thing about the oil lines. I did see the set that cyclexchange makes and I will probably go that route. I know what you mean about a project never being done. I've gone from single sided front disc brakes to a front end swap with the GL1000 - to finally settling on custom triple trees made for gsxr forks. I did the whole swap that Squirly did for my front end. I'm still trying to decide on the rear wheel. I'm waiting on my tank to be shipped from Benjie. He just finished it last weekend. It is the wreckin ball steel tank w/ shorty steel seat. The oil cap and gas cap are from Joker Machine. I can't wait to see it in person.

Thanks guys. Yea, there is a history of the build on the Flickr account, but I don't have all of the finished build photos uploaded yet. I'm going to take a few of the pre build photos and match the angles for post build photos and pair them up. Should be pretty fun to see the difference.

Hey Dryden, just curious how the Cycle X carb system is working out for you. I have their dual carb system on one of my bikes and am having a hell of a time getting it dialed in. Is this bike big bored? I have heard they don't work well unless the bike has a big bore and really good compression.

Yea, mine are very close to dialed in now(I say that because I never leave well enough alone) Mine is an 836 with new valves, guides and the seats were cut along with the bore so its got good compression. That being said, I havent had any abnormal tuning issues. It ran a little lean bottom and top after the rebuild, but Ive spent time tuning. With my 4-1 exhaust and uni filters Im running 30 pilots, 250 mains and the needle clip is one down from center. Its on the fat side, but I wanted to keep it there while Im breaking the engine in fully. I had it on the highway tonight and got to around 110 before I remembered Im still supposed to be taking it easy. Ive noticed a little 'extra' clutch slip when I really whack the throttle so I'm going to put in heavy springs and new plates.

Syscrush, thanks for the article. I probably wrung it out a few times too. I more meant about other things like loose lines and bolts, scrubbing in tires and bedding in brakes etc. Shes settled into a groove now. Heres a couple photos out on the town:

Sorry I havent been around much. I got a supermoto and have been playing on that. I also took the CB apart again. Shes getting a new tank, tail, saddle, oil tank, harness, oil lines, and paint amongst other things. Heres one of the first new pieces:

I hope to have her re-done by October and will be riding it to Barber.
