I agree. Too early. Heck. If I get a new chain soon I might take some time off and run some more legs. I have enjoyed it more this year than last since my leg was so cramped for time to help the Texas boys out

way to go Wes and Proto

Wes, I don't know if I will get any more miles in or not.  I am considering taking some time off and heading to chicago or the east coast and ride along some more.  Are you going to do some more.  Also Wes, did you get IOWA in or were you not able to get that done.

I didn't get GZ to Iowa. i was hoping that the relay might come back through IA and I could join in again and help out if needed. theres talk of the relay going to Rockerbox in Milwaukee this summer. i might take the relay handoff from MN team and ride to Milwaukee for the event if we are short on riders. but the idea of riding all the way across Iowa doesn't sound all that pleasent  :-\

Point of Clarification -  To qualify as an Iron Butt member you must produce certified documentation of racking up more than 1000 miles within a 24 hour period on a motorcycle, not an accummulated distance of more than 1000 miles for a trip over several days.

I don't know what my GZ mileage was (might be written on the banner) but my round trip mileage was 1219.3 miles. I did the first leg but thanks to a sporadic internet connection never posted pics or anything. Any planning for 2013 yet?

BTW, Cqyqte, you're right about official"Iron Butt" status but I think we're using it as a more generic term here. I wonder if anyone has done an official Iron Butt on one of these rides.

Matt,

I've been watching, but haven't seen any IBA-qualifying rides yet. A few have been close tho!
Can I have a motorcycle when I get old enough?
If you take care of it.
What do you have to do?
Lot’s of things. You’ve been watching me.
Will you show me all of them?
Sure.
Is it hard?
Not if you have the right attitudes. It’s having the right attitudes that’s hard.

Yeah.. this isn't for IronButt ... just a total of miles ridden in conjunction with this relay.  We did something like this last year too.  non-sequential mileage even counts on this ... like if you do a section on the way east to west and then do another section west to east if the relay comes past close to you .. that counts.  I am hoping to join up with the south coastal team if my schedule works out.  and try to do the finish leg.. I will include that in my total too..
