Kickstarter conern after rebuild - cb750k1
« on: June 11, 2012, 05:26:22 PM »
I'm about 95% done my k1.  I'm at the final stages of putting everything together.  Full bottom and rebuild as well as everything else.

First concern..
I put on the kickstarter today and tried to just kick it over at it was extremely hard.  I have to put almost all my strength to kick it over.  When I turn over the engine using the large nut on the stator it turns over nicely.  I'm not sure what it could be.

Second concern..
The clutch plates are not installed at the moment as I'm having trouble putting on the clutch nut.  I'm able to turn the sprocket freely by hand when in gear which concerns me because there should be considerable resistance at the sprocket.   :'(  I'm thinking the clutch is disengaged when plates are out so that's why this is happening but I thought I'd ask.

Was this first item with or without the clutch plates installed? If they were installed, did you opt for a later model (i.e. "thicker" clutch pack)?
