Thanks from a newbie.
« on: August 03, 2012, 09:46:27 AM »
You are all awesome!  I have been reading the forum, tech forum and related information for a couple of months and it is great.  Wonderful information from informative folks.  I am new to motorcycles--never owned or ridden one--but could not resist an ad for a 1972 Honday 500 Four for $198.00.  Went to look at it and was amazed.  It had been sitting in a garage, covered by a blanket since 1990!  I could not resist and paid the guy $200 and he delivered it (2 miles) to me.  Then the journey began.  While new to motorcycles, I have a farm/mechanical background so the challenge to get this beautiful bike back to life was on.  Of course the tank was half full, carbs in bad shape (slides locked up, but thanks to James in Arizona now in great shape), clutch inoperative and front brake master cylinder dry and front disc piston locked.  Got the carbs rebuilt (I am not a carbureter man), rebuilt the clutch, master cylinder, new brake pads, seals and oil for the front forks, seat, shifter, and bits and pieces on and on, got it started last night!  What a great feeling to bring back to life this wonderful machine.  Waiting on the tank from the radiator shop.  Then new tires and motorcyle school and then the road.  I know I will be back for more information, but for now, THANK YOU ALL!

Welcome to SOHC4 world. We need pictures.
'Then' and 'than' are completely different words and have completely different meanings. Same with 'of' and 'have'. Set and sit. There, their and they're. Draw and drawer. Could care less/couldn't care less. Bought/brought FFS.
