The PimpZilla One Woman SW tour...
So, if you ship me PimpZilla and I put him on a Tamiya SOHC/4 plastic model and put him in my Transit Bus converted to MC hauler I can give Pimpzilla some touring in southern climates this winter...until Mooshie needs him for the PimpZilla One Woman SW Tour...

Mooshie, have you calculated time and distance estimates yet for your tour?

There's a few cool B&B north of I10 in Safford, AZ... It would be a better road to consider for MC I think over to NM, unless you want to skirt the roads near the border...
Few good friends are DHS Border Patrol agents if you want to talk with them I can give you their names and numbers if you want to discuss safety.   Are you having a companion for your SW ride? I hope so, but you can legally carry openly in AZ, even concealed carry is legal there now...without concealed carry permit.
I love AZ...
But, you will need to abide by the laws on the no weapons allowed areas...

If you ship it to me, I will fire up the truck and toy-hauler and then ride him around in LA, thinking around school christmas holiday.

We should be able to make that happen Coke. What date would you need to have the pimp there, and what date would you be able to ship him to the next victim, uh, volunteer? ;D

Planning on another solo tour.  Gave my rough idea of riding on the other thread (forgot the name of it-the one I started with the poll though).  I want to go to Mexico but everyone is so against it that I think I will hold that off until 2015.  No time or distance calculated I usually just get a rough idea and then go with it depending on my mood.  I don't make reservations at motels (no camping for me) either.  Just figure I will find somewhere along the way to rest. I am reviewing the info you already sent me David and plan to have something firmed up in January.

Maybe I missed a reference with the "cowboy and indian" comment... but you won't need a gun here in AZ.
Enjoy the ride.

I am calling it the Cowboy and Indian tour.  No worries on me packing a gun.  Won't happen.  People are always very nice once they realize I am a woman and of course they love the CB550 so always a ton of attention with that bike around!

You may see some real cowboys in AZ, and you will definitely see real Indians. The cowboys are more dangerous than the Indians. ::) Seriously, the Indians in AZ are a friendly and gentle people from my experience.

+1 on what Scott said.
You don't need a gun...
Risk when near the border is from drug runners but you should not have to worry.
The "Monument Fire" a couple years ago started south of Sierra Vista and burned from near the monument at the Huachuca mountains just above the border all the way up to very close to Sierra Vista. It burned several structures and most of the face of the mountain. The Aerostat at Ft. Huachuca was not lowered during the fire and that caused the aerial tankers (lots of them) to have to divert their drop paths as a result. Was very bad for them to have to do so while fighting the fire. Not to mention far less efficient and more difficult to slow it to get it under control before it descended into the valley to take out the houses. Then when a bulldozer on Ft. Huachuca sparked a fire that nearly burned a neighborhood (fueled by high winds it burned 65 acres in less than an hour and jumped Buffalo Soldier Trail (A 4 lane highway along the perimeter of Sierra Vista where it abuts the Fort.)  Ft. Huachuca is an Army intel training center, home of Netcom, an Army UAS pilot & ground crew training base.  Maybe you can get a photo of a Predator crossing to land at S.V. airport with Dash parked in the landing flight path over the road. Don't think they will let you take Dash on Huachuca as military bases require special training & permit for bikes on base if you are military or civilian contractor. Not sure if the rule applies to visitors. Showing your driver's license can allow you to go on base without any special permit or the like. The two gas stations on base are generally the cheapest fuel in the area. Recommend you fill up in Tucson.
Another thing...non-ethanol fuel is hard to find if not impossible in AZ. So, you may want to use the stuff HondaMan recommends for fuel. I use Seafoam.

Just a few things that popped into mind...

Godzilla arrived safe and sound.

If he had arrived a couple hrs earlier he would have been yanking and banking at 200 mph.

But the post was slow and he arrived after I was out flying.

He's off to OZZIELAND in 2 days!

The lil' pimps been overseeing shop renovations as we move the store into a bigger space. Not much time for photography I'm afraid but he's been keeping the customers and all the kids amused. Pulled the supersports out of the storage container today while accessing some other stuff and found that they were all covered in moisture and corrosion thanks to a leak in the roof. I guess I'm gonna have to air them out soon. Oh, well.
So much to do, so little time.

Matt, Sorry to hear of the leak. Water issues stink...

Can you snap me a few photos of PimpZilla...I have a mission where I need decent pics of all three Godzilla. I will reveal more when I am rolling the ball through more than liquid Jello.

See the Open Forum as Danny has an active thread again about a Blue Ridge Parkway southern end location gathering in planning for September 2020. One nice place he posted he found that could work is in Cherokee, NC on the reservation land there.
