750 K Headlamp Socket NLA
« on: September 13, 2016, 05:22:37 PM »
I need a good used headlamp socket, with good connectors (if possible) for my '70 CB750K (and used on many years, I believe). NLA from Honda, and have heard from a reliable source that many aftermarket suppliers are NLA, as well. One supplier claims to have it for about $8.00, plus (get this) $14.00 shipping! The ones from a typical auto parts store have all three wires black. I've attached a photo of the one needed. Thanks in advance!

That will work fine. Use your original to make sure you have the wires connected right

Lots of those wiring set ups are still available from most parts suppliers (ie) PartsnMore, Vintage CB750 etc. The downside is most have a bare wire set up, so you will need to attach connectors.
If you can get one for $8 bucks plus $14 shipping with the correct connectors already attached you are lucky. Here in Canada the US exchange rate is 32%, plus 13% Canadian HST tax and shipping is never any less than $24-$40+ US for any part, no matter how small when an E Bay listing is involved.

So bite the bullet and step up, unless you have the connectors and proper crimping tool to make your own.

FYI: The white is the low beam and the blue is the high beam and green is the ground if you go the automotive route.

I've never seen a "rubber booty thing" on my bikes but should work. Maybe an early Gold Wing thing ?

I got a rubber booty with my Hella headlight. Could be aftermarket.
