Man Cup World Finals. Valdosta
« on: October 29, 2017, 03:19:45 pm »
So how many have made firm plans to be in attendance at this event either as a spectator or participant??

We hope to be there Friday around noon. Looks like there won't be any ET time runs on Saturday. All runs will be on Friday evening  and we go straight into eliminations on Saturday morning. At least we have a trophy round that morning to get right before " nut cutting" time. I'd guess they're trying to tighten up the schedule in order to finish the ET classes each day. That curfew always seem to slap them in the head at this event.

I intend to enter street ET, super eliminator and top gas. The wife plans to run pro,ET. Should be a good event.

This event seems to be shaping up for good attendance from the racers. A few weeks ago, we tried booking rooms at several of our regular places in Adele and all are full. Now we have to take that long drive down to Valdosta every dang night- uughhh!!!. It also means I have to get up 45 minutes earlier to come back to the track. I guess I need to repair the RV before next season so I can camp at the track.

I talked to Kenny's son a little over a week ago. I got the impression from him they hadn't fully decided upon coming down although the desire was still there.

That's great news Bill. Its to bad I won't have the mono shock bike ready for this event. I just can't let one race force me into doing shoddy work just to impress someone. I prefer to wait and have it exactly right before I show up at a major event. My brother also needs seat time at a less pressured venue. We'll hit a few local, 1/8th mile tracks so I can sort out both the suspension and the engine. The horsepower in the bottle will come much later.

Should still be a great event and I'm looking forward to seeing all my SOHC friends again.

As an aside, I have talked with Bill Hahn Jr., the race announcer, about all of us who have or will have one of JT Norton's fantastic Iconic Sam Green t-shirts at the race, to announce over the PA system a call to gather and take a group photo. Something we can photo shop Sam into and send to him. Bill has agreed to do so, gladly. The thinking is some time Sunday before everything gets cranked up, but is just in the earliest of planning stages. Tribute to our iconic leader and captain of Team Green.
