Topic: K8 resurrection

Since I'm 99% finished with my F model mono shock project, I think its past time for me to begin bringing this K8 back to life. I haven't ridden this bike in over 16 years. Its been sitting in the corner of the shop, slowly deteriorating.  I'm not certain exactly which path i'll follow on this one. Maybe a restomod, or perhaps a daily rider restoration. Thinking  about an 836 kit and a mildly ported head for a little extra power. Not trying to make this one a dragbike but at least want a bit of extra power on tap. Either way, I intend to make this a winter time project with a goal of riding it by mid summer 2020.

Glad I could help keep you straight! I will probably go with the Delkevic stainless steel system on my next one. Hard to beat stainless for $350 when repop OEM go for $1200-$2000.

Don't worry Jerry. It's a priority to freshen up the F3. This k model will be worked on in between my other projects.  I just need to at least get started on it or it'll be sitting another 16 years.

I have the Delkevic header and the straight muffler. It LOOKS good and is not really loud (in the garage) with the baffle inserted. No real world experience as it has not hit the street yet (reference my previous comment LOL). Quality of the stainless is very good. It's turning a nice yellowish color. The pipes are all four separate and attach to the collector with springs. Easy to install. I think I installed the pipes with the springs to the collector before I installed the pipes to the head. It's MUCH lighter than a stock system. I will be home his weekend and can get pics if you'd like.

Here’s the system on my ‘75 F. Decent photos, you can expand and see the mounting hardware. Extremely light, we’ll made, came with nice collector...... excellent value.
