I got last October's bike of the month out tonight and rode the snot out of it. I'm not sure if it's the 836 kit or the K/H F cam but it pulls really good. I'll be smiling for a few hours. 4-4's sound as good as the rather longish 4-1 did, the seat of my pants can't tell a difference in power.

Had the "Final" Bike Night of the year at the local watering hole.  Didn't want to fire up my cold blooded 75F for such a short trip in the sub 60 degF evening, so I decided I would swing by the local electronics store on the motorcycle to pickup my online order.  Just before I left, I got a text from my youngest daughter saying she needed me to bring something she forgot over to her moms house. So it ended up being a chilly, but nice 15-20ish mile ride touring the suburbs of Flint on the way to bike night.  Then after a few hours, a quick 3 mile ride home as the temperature dropped a few more degrees now that night is coming much earlier.

My CB750 K2 got a ride a month ago. Wheather and work on my K6 with test rides have got the focus.

My K6 got a 250km ride yesterday to verify plug colors after plug change. Earlier too rich had made one plug "oily" shiny black. Now all 4 dry.
Adjustments in search of more horses successful, found a big one!!

I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

Took the 350F out yesterday for the first time in 3 weeks, since the birth of my boy. It's cooled off here and it's in a garage so it took a few minutes to warm up. Kept the revs up and it did just fine.

I went out on the cb750k1 this morning to test out the heated jacket and gloves. Works well and I'm nice and warm. I only run them about 60-70% power.

Took the "Big Bang" K4 for a ride last Friday.
The weather down [over?!] here here has been absolutely perfect - Sunny with highs around 80 and lows around 50.

She ran perfect!

Only did 40 miles but it was fun. As you can see, there is not a straight road around here in the Texas Hill Country...

Ha....that hardly a complete tour of the Hill Country!

Unfortunately, no, did not see my riding buddies. Of the three of my local riding buddies:

#1. Sold his [non SOHC] Honda to buy a Corvette
#2. His SOHC is completely disassembled.
#3. He just had major back surgery last week and cant even drive right now.

Sad, but I will ride on!

As the weather deteriorates on top of the world, down under it's warming up. To keep sane during the last 8 months of various stages of lockdown, I've been keeping busy at home with 4 separate bike builds, two Kawasaki's, and 2 CB750's. My last ride on my F2 was 10 miles on Oct 25th, the bike is slowly coming back to life after 10 years parked, forgotten, in someone's carport.

Terry's Effing F2 Sun 25 Oct 2020 2 by Terry Prendergast, on Flickr

I thought I'd fixed the leaking tank with a tank liner and some JB Weld, but made a fatal mistake which allowed a dribble of gas down my new paint. I've since fixed the leak (fingers crossed) and when the 25 Km (15 mile) lockdown restriction is lifted next week, I'll be doing my first 100 miler since June.(?)

Covid-19 has all but disappeared here in Oz with no new cases or deaths in my state (the worst hit) for the last 5 days, and only 3 new cases in Sydney, and none anywhere else. I was really pleased to walk thru the local shopping mall for the first time today to see all the stores, cafes, food courts etc open for the first time in 18(?) weeks. The situation is fragile, masks are still mandatory everywhere, but the country is starting to wake up after a long period of misery. I'm really looking forward to getting back out on my favourite roads on the F2 and my other bikes from next week, and hopefully my K0 by Christmas. ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

Beautiful photo, Eric!
Freedom Green Metallic is a really good looking color.
Honda should have used it more than only on 1974 K4, right?

Funny reading about ugly green.
Freedom Green something else with bluish tone. Depending on the light it will change.

You give the throttle at green, not red which will be bad "luck".

I have heard that yellow should be bad luck on bikes and cars.

I didn’t read the link Eric, but know that with cars at least, some colours are considered dangerous as they’re harder to see than other. Car drivers never look for bikes, regardless of colour, so not really applicable.

There are a lot of myths abound in biker lore though, I started riding big road bikes in the 70’s and back then you’d never buy a bike that had been in a fatal crash, a “Death Bike”. Two of my friends were killed on a Z1 in 1979, and although the bike wasn’t all that badly damaged, their fellow club members broke into the town dump after hours, dug a deep hole with an excavator and buried the bike, so it could never kill anyone else.

The VTR1000F I bought was an insurance write off, and looking at the damage it was probably a Death bike. I couldn’t re-register it even though there was no frame damage, so I bought a titled frame and transferred everything across. I did break one finger in the process, so maybe there was still a bit of evil left in it, or maybe I’m just accident prone, but I only rode it up and down my street, and am in no hurry to put it on the road, and maybe that’s a good thing.... ;D

Old parts we buy on eBay can be parts from Death bikes.
Not only forgotten bikes parked under an apple tree in the 70-80's until someone find in under all weed and part it.

Very true Per, you never know. My bike mechanic friend Jeff at Ace Motorcycles used to wreck bikes before Ebay killed off most bike wreckers, and one day I noticed he had a very lightly damaged Yamaha FZR600, with 13 Kms on the odo. I asked him what the deal was, and he said that a young guy had ordered a new "Fizzer" and when Yamaha City here in Melbourne called to say his bike had arrived, he went over at lunchtime, collected it, rode it back to his office, and on his way over, dropped it in a turn on a wet steel plate. (roadworks)

The bike didn't suffer much damage, but he slid into oncoming traffic, and was driven over by a bus. His family didn't want the bike of course, so Jeff bought it cheap to part out. He offered me the whole bike cheap, but I declined...........  ::)

Today Nov 4th.  A treat right now here here in Michigan.

Looks nice Eric. What lake?   Just a matter of time before that lake has ice 2' thick?!
Its Gun Lake in Barry County Steve close to Hastings north of Kazoo. My grandpa had a nice cottage there when I was a kid, wish it was still in the family :-X  This lake has had a reputation for years for very fast boats. Back in the day there were lots of those big exposed V8 455ci etc. things running around with those cool headers blaring away.

This morning! Only a quick lap to put a smile on my dial before working on my K0 engine build, but any ride is a good ride, and once the lockdown restrictons are eased from Monday, I'll be back doing some 100 milers. Just in time for the nicer weather, too! I put new tyres on it yesterday and painted the fork lowers, so it's slowly starting to look like more of a bike, and less of a rat. ;D
