Just picked up this 1975 CB550 SuperSport last weekend  ;D

I responded in PM regarding shop; that thing looks really nice!. This may be an unpopular opinion these days, but keep it stock!
'75 cb400f, '77 cb550f , CB160 road racer, '88 Hawk GT track bike, FZR400 race bike, and a bunch of old hondas in boxes.

Here's my 76 CB550F1 I just got roadworthy after receiving it as a birthday gift/project almost 2 years ago from my now fiancé.  38,XXX miles and still going but was rough in the beginning.  Engine teardown this winter to freshen up.

Here's my 1971 CB500. It's currently in a lot more pieces as it waits for various bits to get back. (Pipes getting ceramic coated, rotor getting drilled, rear fender getting replace, and the seat waiting for upholstery). Hopefully they're all back on by the time the snow melts.  ::)

Thats my old bike! Lets see some pics of it now!

A year (or more) later and my rebuild is done.

1977 CB550F, aka "Roy". Stock (minus the CB400 bars and after-market mirrors). Tempted to rebuild as a cafe, tempted to appreciate it's beauty in it's natural state of stock. Runs well after some recent tuning, eventually might need to adjust carbs for altitude. Joined the forum back in 2002 with my first CB550, glad to be back. Such a great resource for rookie wrenchers like myself. Cheers!

very nice! that bike looks in awefully good shape. don't even think about cafe-ing it, it's really too good for that, and worth more if you ever want to re-sell it. if cafe is what you want there are plenty of run-down ones you can buy for cheap and modify.

Wow wow, awesome. Where did you find the smaller engine guards? I'd love to get one.

Nice. Looks like 4into1 has it too:

http://4into1.com/chrome-engine-guard-set-honda-cb500k-cb550k/

Although they won't fit the stock 4-1 header, so I'll need to find some OEM ones:
These also fit the CB550F super sport, but they don't if you have the stock 4into1 header

mine do fit the 4-1 header as you can see. unfortunately they have no markings so i can't tell who made them.
i guess i should hold on to these as they seem rare. let us know if you find something that fits!
