There were actually 3 at least rotisseries. Didn't hear them start or ride around. I oughta ask next time, would be a treat.

Hey Ron,  I did miss that!  Makes me super sad that I couldn't have gone.  Things have been so busy for me recently that I don't even have a running bike.  Picked up a screw in the front tire of the triumph and have the Yammy in some pieces replacing cables and a couple items.  Just haven't had time to get either road worthy :(  Must do so soon.

I hope Iceland was fun

YEs it was really well done. Well organized, events flowed, good food, patio parties 2 nights, free bear. NExt year will be in Helen GA, which is also a great place to have such an event. Then back to Spring Milll where it will stay TFN. Sorry about your bikes. The Yam is a popular model for enthusiasts

Iceland: This time of year it rains twice a week: once for 2 days and once for 3 days.  LOL  But it also was a good trip. We opted for the wheelchairs service as my walking has become very unreliable. But the airports and Delta service was fantastic, front of the line, made me feel self conscious but that's life. Tourism is now the thing in Iceland, and they run their shows very professionally.  They sell what they own which is scenery and history. And HOT water. They plumb the cities with water from the geysers and hot tap water is really hot.  :)

Phaedrus is registered for the Cycle World Pagoda Show, at the Indy MotoGP Aug 8-10.

http://www.cycleworld.com/pagodashow2014/

Coming up Sunday shop day: detailing, maybe put some more time on the motor, change the oil. Swap out the MC.

Got an appointment with Saldana's Racing Products Wed for a chain(lube)guard, muffler bracket, at least. If time allows, oil cooler bracket. Fender work will have to wait.

Looking forward to it.   :D

Nice, so what types of things do you have your sights set on to install on your bike?  Like do you feel that it has reached its final form?

Nice, so what types of things do you have your sights set on to install on your bike?  Like do you feel that it has reached its final form?
The final, final will be: a simple flat rail chainguard; a muffler/centerstand stop combo bracket, an oil cooler bracket for the oil cooler (duh); a dressier mount for the air fork filler; some dressier spacers for the rear turn signals; then the front fender needs work. It is a CB350F unit from the salvage yard. Looks like a CB750 unit, but curved to fit the 18" front wheel. It photographs well, in reality the chrome is bad in places, and the original mounting holes are visible. We will weld them closed, grind smooth and rechrome the whole thing.  I've been putting off the MC swap. I have one that's chromed, but gluing in a new site glass and re-bleeding the brakes has kept me from swapping so far.

But, it is fully functional, showable, rideable, sellable, as is. (After all, Who needs an oil cooler?  ;) ).

I expect to just keep spiffing it up, and showing it off. tidying the wire harnesses, upgrading the electrics, polish, polish.  When you can't ride, that leaves time for other things.

Then start on a new project.   :D

Went to Saldana for chain(lube) guard, and muffler bracket. The guard is not a chain guard as any protection against a broken chain is non-exstent. But it does cover enough to keep oil off the rider. From the side it is almost not there. From the rear the blade is 1.25" wide just enough to cover the chain. The curve matches the 48t sprocket radius down to about 2:00 OClock.

My fault, I chose too thin material for the blade and it flexes a bit at the tip. Good enough for a show, but needs to be thicker for serious riding. Fall project, SRP said they would redo it for cheap as they now have the dimensions sorted out.

They took the bolted together muffler bracket and traced it on their cadcam to get a real nice 1pc profile that was lazer cut out of 3/16 aluminum, minimalist. Disappears into the profile. The tab for the centerstand just barely hits, but it does, so its usable till later.

It often takes 2 tries for things like this.

Flash really shows the smudges

Petite but functional:

So the Pagoda show?  I've not been down to the GP before?  If I want to come down to say hi and check things out does this require a general admission moto gp ticket?

Yes it does, $25. A little pricey. Then parking is $20 at an approved lot. Neighborhood parking can be had for less if you know your way around.

Prepping for MotoGP show:
Both agreed, try and get some more shop time at Saldana's and get recent parts reworked. Chain guard looks great, except the thickness of the material I chose for the blade is too thin, and the blade has a little "diving board" action at the end. Some thicker stock will fix it right up.

The muffler bracket was made by CAD to copy the original bracket to a cut out 1 piece aluminum item. PRoblem is, the original piece had some dimensional issues that shouldn't have been copied. WE can use it for the show, but if we can get a better one, it would be...better.

The turnsignal wires have always bugged us. Red and Green against the chrome fender makes for 4 bright wires that you can see across the room. We pulled them out and sheathed them with black heat shrink. Much better.

What kind of luggage rack is that?  Are they still being made?  Looks cool.
It is a Ventura Luggage System: http://www.ventura-bike.com/default.aspx  They are realy neat. Out of New Zealand, still very much available for K2-K7 and the Fs. That's the answer, here's the story. As I've attempted to do with the theme of this bike, everything has a story.

Even though my bike was a K2, I swapped out many parts with K0 and K1 as I preferred the look, etc. My K2 fender had a crack in it from overloading the more traditional type rack I had on it, during one of the many camping trips me and the wife went on years ago. Knowing that I needed to replace it, I bought an OEM K0 fender, for umpteen $$, I think they are NLA now. The K0 fender is slightly shorter which goes better with the smaller 17" wheel I fitted. It also is drilled for the smaller K0-K1 tail light, which I also wanted. The old original Luggage rack was "racked" (bent) from a fall I'd taken in St Louis. I wanted to replace it with a Ventura as I had that on another bike already.

But as mentioned Ventura only listed them for K2+ (wider base). So I called Ventura and got the owner on the phone and told him what I was doing. At first he said no luck. But I wore him down. He said the CB750 was the first bike they ever made a system for, and maybe he had some old K0/K1 parts "in the wearhouse". He said he'd look and call me back. Sure enough, a few days later he called me back from NZ. Said he had the 2 arms in chrome, and the Sport size platform, also in chrome. That was it, last ones in the Universe, and they were mine.

The "system" idea allows for the quick swapping of the Sport platform (Usually smaller and low grab bar) for the Touring rack, which has a higher bar over which any one of several aerodynamically shaped luggage bags drops and fastens. Release of luggage is a snap, throw it into tent or take in motel. I've got the whole system on my HawkGT (and actually used it several times.)

I was going to use the pieces I got as the template for having a touring rack made. But my current inability to ride has reduced that priority. I'll keep the sport rack to complete the "standard" theme.

Highly recommended for K2+, well built and engineered for sport touring.

The left side rail has a loop welded on it to replace the K0/K1 style hand hold for the centerstand lift.

Now that is handy.  I have one for a later K model that doesn't quite fit but can still hold 20ish pounds without much problem.  But, it is a pain trying to get it on the center stand with it on as I can't hold on to the rack to left up.
