Ok by the looks of all the others so far my garage is without a doubt the most cluttered/messy.
When winter comes around here I sadly have to give up half my space for the family vehicle plus having room to pull the sled in for tinkering when it get down to -35 - -40.
Even with 2 space heaters and 2 forced air propane heaters it's bloody cold in there. . I'm forced to pile everything up out of the way, it looks a lot better come spring time, honestly. I can bring the TV back out, beers in the fridge air conditioner running on high.

Updated pic for this year.  It was 71 degrees and sunny here today. ;D  I guess that means we'll have an ice storm covered with a foot of snow next week to balance things out. :'(

I've spent some time reviewing all 16 pages of this thread datiung back several years. Quite a bit of interesting ideas, great shops shows what can be done with a little or a lot. I see that SeaWeb started it. He must have been fishing for ideas. And now we see his shop reminescent of a swiss chalet. Very nice stuff.

I'm pretty proud of mine so I'll toss in some pics and comments.
It was originally a 2 car garage. My thought was to add a third stall as a "shed" wood frame construction type addition. My contractor talked me into a more integrated design. Keep the block construction, weave the blocks into the old garage and take off the right side of the roof, replacing it with a full roofline over the shop. Then replacing the siding also for a finished look.

If you can imagine, the old roofline was symmetrical with the left side.
Besides making it look like it had always been so, and not an add on, it gave me a lot more height and a 12 foot wall between the old garage and the new shop, from which to hang things. But I'll discuss the inside a little later, finish the outside. Back wall shot:

And the other back wall:

A little humor on the front wall:

And nostalgia:

In the original garage, we have the "wet" corner. Toilet, utility sink and refrigerator:

The contractor had to saw out a 2x4 section of concrete floor, dig down 36" and over 12 feet to the basement wall to get the water. Luckily the sewer runs between the back wall of the house and garage, so he could "T" the drains into it. The sticker on the tank reads "Remember when sex was safe and motorcycles were dangerous?" More later.

I looked back at my shop picture from March 2007 and realized that I have done a 100% turnover in bikes since then. Probably shoulda' kept the TransAlp.

Yes, fastbroshi, those are both 305 Superhawks.  The closest one is a '65 with 1226 miles on it.  The other one is a rider.

Inside shots. From the old garage through the old wall into the shop.

Its all curtains for now, but I hope to hang some "cafe" swinging doors that i can lock.
From the work bench looking to the front door. The rollup doors (a 4 footer to the left out of sight) save ceiling space for hanging things.

The "air" corner, 6 hp porter/gable compressor plumbed throughout the shop with 6 plug ins, and a 50ft recoil hose in the garage. I don't want to have to struggle to air a tire.

You can see the blue plastic piping going up the wall. Cool stuff from Griot's Garage/John Guess
http://www.johnguest.com/application_spec.asp?id=4
Can't see the compressor, but its there. i put it as far from the workbench as possible as its loud, but it has a big tank and doesn't run much. The shelves on the left are hooked to the wall and suspended from the ceiling with the yellow chain and turnbuckles to make them level. My own design but really stupid as i did the other wall with the wire shelves that hang from a rail across the top. In both cases i meant to keep everything. like shelf legs off the floor. This way i can stash rolling chassis under the shelves. The SuperHawk on the left and the CB750F and the CB400Ti on the right.

The ceiling is R19 batting in proper sized rafters. I was dreading putting up drywall but i wanted a finished look. My painter buddy suggested using the foam they use on the sides of houses. Great idea. Lightweight, adds another R6 insulation, (total R25) and easy to put up, and with the silver side towards the shop, very reflective. Cut with a knife, seems taped with silver tape, I used the same nails used on the sides of houses with orange washers to add some color.

Off high to the right, there is 4 ft of pegboard the length of the ceiling from which hangs pieces for future use.
From the floor up, the walls are blue for 3 courses, red for 3 and the balance white. If you were to choose a color for my life it would be beige. So I tried to liven things up a bit. The block had Perlite insulation poured in for a total R9 in the walls. A 5000 watt heater in the garage will warm up the shop area too, and a 1500 watt spaceheater knocks the chill down. But I really need 5000 watts dedicated to the shop. Total SF about 14 x 24=336.

I had a 60Amp service put in, with 4 outlet outlets every 8 feet on every wall in the garage and the shop. I didn't want to struggle for electricity either.
So thanks for indulging me. This is likely my shop for life, my garageMajal, and I'm happy with it. I know many of you have much finer, and many get by (and do great work) with much less. Its a guy thing. My wife was very supportive. Now I have to concentrate on the kitchen.

Wow, what a complement!!!  I was planning to nominate your shop as being the "Most Improved", "Coolest", "Best Thought Out", or something along those lines.

Well, I suppose the inspiration for you is a huge step up from the way I normally inspire:  Parents point at me and threaten their kids with, "Do you want to end up like THAT?" ;) ;)

These are all I had at work...I'll have to take a few more this weekend.

The shop is 18 wide by 22 deep. I plan on putting an extension on the back, probably go back another 12 x 12 and use that as my work bench/fabrication area. :o :o
She ain't much...but she's mine  ;D ;D ;D

Ha ha, so I guess you're single mate? ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

Here's my shop....My parents place that is :-\ :-\ :-\

Me and pops started this together and were going to keep it this way.

It's a 2 car garage that was designed with a small extension. What is better than using that space for non-other than
some Honda's and ONLY Honda's???

You wouldn't think so, but those tool boxes are Packed!!!!

And yes, those are kitchen counter tops that are used for working. Too bad the parents didn't have the
garage insulated :( :( :(

Over head lighting and also under each cabinet!!

Working sink!!

And just imagine.....We use to have 10 full size Honda's in this garage....you couldn't even get in between the cars :) :D :D :D ;D ;D ;D ;D

So there it is....it's my parents, but the way I see it, it's mine and they don't want me to move out EVER!!!

Which is kinda weird....but kinda nice at the same time.

Cheers

So when I'm not tearing apart the lower end of a 550 engine in my living room I normally work out of my buddies garage, he's Prosolar on the forum.  That's my engine on the green table to the right in the first pic.  I hope to be finished in a few months, (sigh).
