Ha ha, Cliff's bike is slowly evolving into a stocker! When are you gonna paint it candy ruby red and strap on some HM341's mate? ;D

Soon ...

And I prefer Bacchus Olive Green, even if it wasn't a CB750 colour.

Crank up the traditional irish punk music and rock my little corner of the garage.
The new Dropkick CD is pretty good

Sure do, Eric. I didn't document every little detail, but nearly every part got powdered, painted, polished or replaced.  Motor only needed a valve job....

Although I was tempted to build a high performance engine, once it as determined that the pistons/bores were good, I decided a reliable runner would be just fine.

Removed the DCC billet top triple and clip on's and fitted a CB450 top triple and drag bars.

Made all the more fun by the fact I had been a good boy and previously routed the switch block wiring through the clip on bars to hide it all - never again!

Of course, muggins here puts it all back together and tries to start the bike - no start.

Ah yes, CB450 triples have rubber isolated bar risers and you do need to fit that little earth wire with a washer on each end from one of the riser posts to a gauge mount. All good now, took it for a ride through the local twisties and realised how much better I am on nice wide drag bars as opposed to clip on's.

Meanwhile the RFID chip under the skin of my left hand is turning the ignition on and off with ease.

Finished my seat re-cover!

It is slightly off-center at the front, I know... It was straight when I started clamping. Oh well! Still pretty good, I'd say. I'm still really happy with it! I used the original chrome trim, I just used a razor-blade to remove it from the cover. The lumpyness on the rear end is from the plastic sheet I put under it, since the pattern is stitched, not pressed.

Did you do a tack strip in the seat pan to hold it on or do I remember seeing a picture where you stole all of your wives clothes pins and glued it on ? Any link to that seat cover, I should be redoing some this winter also.

Here's the Gumtwo cover on my 74'550K.  Chrome trim and strap hardware is NOT included, but a new strap is.
Chrome trim came off the bike with a little effort, and I reused it.
Strap hardware- I assumed it was NLA.   Reuse what you have.
I had a sheet of .5mm rubber, and cut a pad for under the sewn in seat top
Use plenty of upholsterers cement, and let it cure well before taking clamps off.  If you use a chrome trim ring, this will also help keep the cover in place if a tooth is broken/missing.

I use the existing "shark teeth", even was the one who stole all of his wives clothes pins!  [Does anyone actually use them for hanging clothes any more??]

Yep, I was never a fan of drag bars, probably an improvement over clip ons, but not a patch on superbike bars. It's nice to be able to look in front of you without your neck being at 90 degrees to your spine........... ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"
