Rekindling the affair with my mistress

 The garage door opened,
There she was, as she's been so many times before,
I set the fan on high, and the lights low,
brought her to the open door overlooking the snow,
 Icicles melting from the eaves,
I gently turned her over and she came alive,
Firmly planted on her seat, with the kickstand up,
 Both hands on the bars,
With one touch, of her throttle the rpms climax
The breeze blows through my hair.....Hmm nice.
She idles for minute, almost purring, then I shut her down.
"That was nice.  We'll do this again soon"
Took her back to the spot where she's been patiently waiting for me all these months,
"Don't worry , spring is on it's way"

and then ,   I'll ride her like a freakin circus pony !
A few Honda 500's, a few Honda 550's, a few Honda 650's, '72 cb 450, a couple 500/550/650 hybrids, and 2001 750.
550 Snowbike -Somebody had to do it.

Bled my brake, I think I finally got all the air out this time.  We'll see.  Gonna go pick up a vacuum bleeder before dinner, along with some fuses (blew the main fuse last night testing all the circuits) and turn signal lights.

Need to look at replacing the brake lines - they're the originals and the rubber is cracking.   Haven't got a clue where to look though, seems like all the replacements are either banjo on both ends or threaded on both ends.

Eigen....speedbleeders work really well, and check out slingshot cycles (Shaun is a member here on the forum). Custom made brake line sets just for our bikes.  Great product.

Evanphi - about all that carbon.  Personally I don't care about that stuff, the instant you turn the bike on it'll all come back anyway.  But if you're trying to be thorough - I cleaned my engine when I replaced the rings and honed the cylinders, try WD-40 as a start.  It works really really well at removing that stuff.  I just sat my self down in a lawn chair, got a roll of those blue shop towels, and squirted WD-40 on the pistons and wiped.  Cleaned them right up.

Unfortunately, I don't have any video or pics of the event itself. Just some aftermath pics.

The TS has been running for a week now, but it needed a little fettling to get it finished. Today I tweaked the air screw and checked the charging/battery circuits, then tested the temp meter. The temp meter isn't working.  :( so why not have a *very* short test run. My front lawn is dead because of the lack of rain and I have a fundamental aversion to watering grass. It was just a short 1st/2nd squirt. I found another problem -
THE FRONT END WON'T STAY ON THE GROUND!

Nothing, absolutely nothing.  The rain god returned today, making up for all that rain we didn't get this winter.  Just don't feel like taking a ride on a naked bike nursing a huge head cold.

Did some cleaning prep today...

Cleaned most of the carbon off the pistons. Cleaned most of the old oil off the cylinders and head. Also removed the dowel pins and rubbers on the studs.

Also found out just why the PO had to ram the rocker shaft into the tower... IT WAS BENT!!! It was out about 0.020" at one end from the center. Maybe from when it was drilled/tapped? Who knows. The whole thing needs replacing, regardless. I have a lead on a set... just waiting now...

Here's the combustion chambers all cleaned up (1-4):

Put some spark plugs in last night and filled the chambers with WD-40. No leakage!

Got the engine back in the frame, oil pump and pan back on as well as filter and I'm calling it a night. I could've gotten a lot more done today but had to wait till 5:30 pm for my youngest son to show up and help me get the engine back in the frame, I needed his help because my back wont let me do it myself besides my wife and I took the opportunity to take the GL out for our first ride this spring. Depending on how quickly I can get motivated tomorrow I should have the 750 fired up by lunch time.
