I made some fender brackets today out of some scrap 20X5mm aluminum flat bar
I still need to get hardware and do the ole trim, tweak, 'n' shine
here's a pic-

I wanted to do the fender brackets with stainless wire, but I couldn't find any.
so I used what I got.

and it keeps the cross over line from potentially contacting the tire

I wanted to see if my vision was coming together as I was hoping.

I got the master cylinder in the mail today, yay...
It needs a new bleeder for aesthetic reasons, and the cap had a mass produced screen print of a skull and cross bones on it. (now removed)
I re-drilled the bleeder and filed it so it wouldn't look so rough for now, straightened the reservoir bracket, and tightened everything all up.
I need to make different spacers for the calipers, mine are too big.
they need to be .180in (4.6mm) the 10mm spacers were too big and the pads were making contact with the edge of the rotor.

here it is-

It still needs a little more tweaking and tightening to be finished, but it's pretty much done.
next thing to do is get an electric speedometer and swap guts into mine. but I'm not in a hurry for that. $$
oh, and grips.

Yeah, it really came together how I imagined.
There's still little details, and as soon as I get everything sorted out I'll do a ride-along video to report how it all feels.

are you talking about the rotor hub was bent? or the actual rotor?

yeah, I'm inclined to agree with you.
I straightened them, but there's a spot in the rotor where you can tell the rotor was heated up real hot and stopped.
on both rotors, there's a 4-5 inch area where the surface is 10 thousandths thinner than the rest of the rotor.

I'm tired of fiddling with them.

they're so easy to bend, just the lightest tap with a rubber mallet and they move.

OK, here's what you do when you don't have a dime to spare.

First I measured the thickness of the rotors at 1 inch increments.
I started to grind them down with a die grinder and a 36grit roloc disc
Then my bit broke. I rode it around and after I broke my bit and it's better, but not fixed.

here's what's on the bench-
Just so you know, the rotors are different.  One is thinner with 10 bars.
The other is thicker with 8 bars.
probably one hayabusa and one gsxr600. (who cares they're the same size)
I'll end up getting replacements some day, but I want to try this experiment.

the rotors have been re-measured and marked
rotor A- (0.160) has a very thin spot, at least .010'' thinner than the rest of the rotor. ???

rotor B- (.179) has 2 minor thick spots that I still need to work out.

so that's what I did today.

if you feel compelled to tell me "brakes and safety bla blee, replace bla bloo" read this first.

Fuggin cool. I would think just one of those rotors would be enough to stop it anyway. I wouldnt worry too much about safety. Great work.

I hear ya man,  Damn the Torpedoes, Full Speed Ahead!! If I'm gonna go down, I'm goin' down in a fiery chipped beef sandwich face-plant!   WOOO!

I can't tell if you're being sarcastic in agreement or making fun of me...  :D 8)

but seriously, I have full confidence in my skills and abilities with what I have on hand.
If the rotor doesn't measure out within +/- .002'' I won't be using it.
I'm sure you know by now (after reading this thread) I'm pretty good at MacGyvering stuff.

I think your front fender braces will give trouble down the road, they are tricky to make. Lucky your fender is cutdown and fairly light..

I would never make fun of a swap like that! Seriously, no doubt one of those rotors & calipers would stop a 750!

heh, I thought you were maybe giving me a ribbing :D
now that you mention the "one would be enough" I was thinking of only running one... but it looked strange.

I forgot to post finished pics, it's pretty stable.
     - but like you said, my fender is pretty light... so, we'll see.
