So where's the official daily log thread?
« on: March 12, 2011, 11:15:25 AM »
Is there one?

Seems like there should be one central place / thread for all the riders' daily posts ....

I'm confused about this thread:
http://forums.sohc4.net/index.php?topic=84754.0
Why would we be looking at the magazine blog when it could be right here?

I'm confused about this thread:
http://forums.sohc4.net/index.php?topic=84754.0
Why would we be looking at the magazine blog when it could be right here?

I'm writing a blog about the ride for a number or reasons. But to be sure, what I will do will be more like a "highlights" reel because most of the real detail will be posted here on the forum. The magazine blog will call attention to all the great effort going on here, promote this site as a happening place for all the reasons it is, encourge other bike groups of whatever ilk to find ways to further enjoy their interest in motorcycles. Lots of good reasons for it, but the play by play will be right here.
Current Rides:
1975 cb550K
1975 cb750K
1967 Bridgestone 350GTR

Past Rides:
1988 400 Hawk
195? Schwinn Whizzer

Popwood - I understand now and agree that yours is a good effort.

Which leaves the original question.

Maybe start a new thread "Relay Rally Rider Logs- Riders only Please" and start a sister thread "Comments To Rider Logs" that would keep the rider log thread uncluttered and limited to rider logs only. Stray comments in the rider log only topic could be moved to the rider log comments thread by the moderator. I'll PM Jerry and Popwood and see what they think.

I think that it is already underway at "Godzilla sightings in Daytona!" Seems to be humming right along. Maybe the OP can change the thread name?

Yes, I could do that, but that thread has a number of comments laced in between the rider reports. Those comments could be moved to a "Rider Log Comments" thread I guess. I just think a rider log specific thread would be easier to follow if it were limited to rider logs only and comments were made in a seperate thread. I started the "Godzilla Sightings" as a way to keep the members up to date in the abscence of an official rider log thread. I would be happy to have that thread dedicated to the rider logs and if the moderator thinks the comments would be better in their own thread, and was willing to move those comments to a seperate thread, that would be better still.

Just kickin ideas around, hope everyone down the line has as much fun with this as I did.

It doesn't really matter what thread its in. The thing is that we are now aware of what we want and we will make it happen. I like the idea of a riders only daily log,,, a comments about the daily ride thread,,, and keep the Godzilla sightings thread alive for sure !!! Hell.....who says we can't have more than one thread???

Wilbur, I could clean that thread up if you want to change it. I do not have any authority outside World Tour however.
