Can I have a motorcycle when I get old enough?
If you take care of it.
What do you have to do?
Lot’s of things. You’ve been watching me.
Will you show me all of them?
Sure.
Is it hard?
Not if you have the right attitudes. It’s having the right attitudes that’s hard.

I'm surprised nobody has suggested a Google Maps route saved after each leg of the relay to show exactly where we've been...

I like the idea Pin.  I have a couple I set up for pre-ride planning.  Not hard to do.  If anyone wants a quick lesson, just PM me!

a bit confused as well as to where the trip is at this moment , where it's been, ( that is getting clearer) and where it is to go and timeline...all of this must be a logistical nightmare, but the google map sounds like a great idea, like the article in motorcycleclassics...keep the right hand down brothers

I'm just glad we are taking our time and keeping in mind the danger of riding in bad weather. I know we want to keep everything on track so we know when to request days off at work but really............... who wants a group of us or even 1 to try to blaze through a snowstorm just to keep everything on schedule? My leg is supposed to be at the end of April going over the Sierra-Nevada mountains. Could be a storm up there when we roll through so it might get delayed till it clears like what is happening in Virginia right now. I think we should keep the general idea in mind.....it ain't a race.... it's a rally.

Well, now that you mention it, it has been known to snow in northern AZ in late April, and quite common to be 90-100 degrees crossing the Mojave Desert at the same time. It was 83 here today; I'm in thermal shock! :o

It was in the low 80's up here in central Cali also. Had to go out for a putt....no question bout that!!! I don't care if it gets colder than that up in the mountains next month but it ain't gonna happen if there is snow involved. I will say that they keep the mountain pass roads clear though.

No need to merge as the two topics discuss two different things (where we've been vs where we're going).  I now have one active thread for both, favoring the scheduling,
