The emotions after being robbed are terrible. I have experienced them first hand. You have my sympathy and condolences Dino. T
 This is why I chain all my bikes while they are in the garage. My wife and kids think I am nuts but I don't give a sh!t.....I'll do everything I can to prevent that sick feeling from occurring again.
 I know I ported that head....it should have engraving on the underside of the bottom fin.
Stealing a bike that old is odd. Please it wasn't finished cosmetically. I'd say somebody wanted the parts.
I still stand by my words....lock/chain your sh!t up!! ;)

A friend in college had bought a Suzuki sportbike and one night forgot and left the keys in it in the side driveway after washing it. Next morning he discovered it still there but key gone and bike covered in dirt as someone took it for a ride but returned it without the key.  He lived just across the street from East Tennessee State University and it was likely a neighbor who did the deed. Being a poor college student rather than changing the ignition he chose to lock it up in the shed with a huge logging chain that winter. He hadn't checked on it in over a month and then when he did he discovered the bike stolen and chain cut. Unfortunately the bike was never recovered and he didn't have theft coverage. He had to pay off the bike which would make the bile rise every payment.
Very nasty situation.

Putting an anchor in concrete with sufficient depth to prevent it from being pulled or dug up easily. Then a lock that can't be pried against or frozen off or easily cut off...same for the chain or cables used. Lock 'em up even in the garage.  Then insure them for what they are worth for stated value, even if something happens you come away with some financial payment to bankroll another build.

I installed the stock air box this week. I used the stock box instead of pods because I have the stock jets in the carbs and I know it will run OK with this setup. It just eliminates the variables of tuning pods AND those velocity stacks are a good idea on and side draft carb application.
Ichiban Moto helped out on this one. :)

Dino, what pressure do you get from the carbs, looking online I see a variety of pressure limits available from 15psi to 300psi. I want to have a go at syncing my carbs but don't want to buy the wrong gauges. Do you think by lengthening the tubes it would reduce the needle flutter, or maybe insert something like cotton wool as a sort of baffle. What do you think?

I tried installing the dual disc brake setup and decided to stay with a single for now. I have a rebuild kit for this master cylinder but it seemed like it was the wrong kit. I just received a kit I bought for a CB750K3 and it's a smaller diameter! Anyone know what master I have here? It's evidently a larger one that the PO bought for the dual setup. Thanks for any info on this. Enjoy this weeks video. :)

Dino, I'm not positive but that looks like a GL1000 master cylinder you have.

Also, to install the dual disks, leave off the chrome retainer collar on the speedo drive side. If the speedo drive has been modified to fit in the rotor, then you don't need that collar any more. To get it all to fit together, put the left caliper mount on first. Then, put the wheel in. Then, insert the assembled right caliper and bolt it in. You may have to file down the right fork lower mounting boss where the caliper mounts so that it is in line with the new, 2nd caliper.

Also, if you do stick with the single disk and want a stock master cylinder, let me know. I have one that I've already rebuilt and powder coated but didn't use because I opted for the dual disks. PM me and we can work something out.

Thanks wowbagger! I'll let you know on that master. For now I'm going to rebuild the one I have and see if it works out OK. After a bit of searching through some parts diagrams I've discovered that it's from a CB750K7.

As far as the dual setup goes. I'll decide if I want to upgrade it after some seat time. I can always do it later since I already have the speedo drive conversion installed and all the parts in hand.

This information is missing from a lot of service manuals, I've noticed, so a lot of people don't seem to know about it.  I believe there was a Service Bulletin released about this at some point.

@Dino I've been watching your Youtube series on this bike and it's been super helpful! I am about to rebuild my first CB350f engine (I know it's not the same, but couldn't find a matching tear down video) and feel like I have a better understanding of how to do certain things with what tools. Keep it up, and looking forward to seeing it completed!

.750 are somthing for it self...as the first sohc ,and some years erlyer then the rest.they learned a lot..and made many improvments to put in the smaller bikes..

.all the smaller is almost build the same vay..a vay to cut build cost dovn

Just watched your latest video regarding the master cylinder and that is not a 77/78 CB750k master as they don't use that plastic cylinder.

I'm bringing this up as a point because certain calipers require the proper master to function correctly. Here is a good website referencing this: http://www.vintagebrake.com/mastercylinder.htm

Thanks. At least the kit I have fits properly and the brakes function as they should.
