that works for me if the houston guys wanted to meet in la.  but that route cuts out what coke was talking about cutting the tips of ok, ar, and meetin me in la. we had almost had things figured to cover, ok, ar, la, and ms then also get it to AL, but that was coming from dallas being the last place in tx. Since there aren't but a couple people in those 4 states, coke and i was going to try to get these all covered if possible and be able to ride some together in la. as of right now I can't make any plans until ya'll know what and where gz is going in tx and which part it will end up being in the north or south. This is making it all hard on me because im the only one in MS and LA right now that is riding and then i have to get it to al as well which i can do no problem but this is going to be a full weekend ride for me so i have to know ahead of time what i need to do.

But doesn't it come back through AK and OK later in the route?

I really don't know but they mentioned wanting to try to catch the tips of ok and ar while going through dallas and coke had mentioned he might could come down to dallas, back up to ok and ar then back down to la since he is lives near the ok border. it really doesn't matter, i just need to know what part of tx it will end up in so i can figure out where or what i need to do cuz i live kinda in the middle so its gonna be a 4-6 hr ride depending on if it in the south or north of la. and when itll be there because moving it up a cpl weeks also cuts off a cpl weeks of planning/prep time. either way things are still a lot further along than they were last year this time.

If AR and OK is going to be in the MO section of the relay I could run that way instead  I live on the west side of AR about in the middle but just a bit more north than center on the OK / AR border. I could run up to Spingfield MO and then ride home, then ride over into OK then up to meet someone in southwest MO or southeast Kansas

I could make the run from Houston to La. Lake Charles would be good, once I know the exact date. I have some travel plans in April that I hope will not conflict with this adventure.

I guess we'lll wait for Stev-0 to finalize the route through Texas. I'm sure there are others who might have a different route in mind. I'm flexible and will try and help any way I can.

I still haven't heard from Justin, our TX leadoff rider so I am hesitate to post days.
With the info from the previous posts, how does this sound:

march 31st Lubbock
Dallas TBD (April 1-5?)
April 6th Dallas/Hou riders to Austin
April 7&8th Hill Country Ride/Camp night
April 9-14 Houston
April 14 Hou Shop Party!
April 15th leave Hou, to LA - Lake Charles?

This is not set in stone, we can tweak it to make it work for you.

Oh, and since this seems to be rolling through Texas the last 2 weeks of tax season, I may be hosed.  Maybe I can do the last week.  Working in finance sucks during April.

Hate to say this, but we don't have a NM rider.  Last resort, zilla gets shipped to Justin, unless we get a volunteer. We're running a little looser this year, not a relay, more emphasis on fun.

Joe - was hoping you could make it back to Austin for the camp night. The Hill Country ride will be on the weekend this year, I got hosed last year when it rolled through mid week (and I was in the middle of a big project).
The camp night by the lake was a good time.

there will be no shipping. I have a feeling we'll be taking the El Paso route in the western side of the state, and if I am alone we'll be going into old mexico and I'll ride till San Diego.

Hello, it's Justin!  Sorry guys, I have been pretty busy with work.  Just now read the TX plans.  I signed up for the relay, and I am still in.  Last year, I got the handoff in Big Spring, TX and rode to my handoff at the Arizona border.  Yes, I would love to ride from Lubbock to the Dallas area.  I am confused , however, is the relay moving from west to east this year?  Last year the relay moved from east to west, so I rode west from Lubbock.  Is the relay moving from west to east this year?  I have no problem riding east from Lubbock, in fact it sounds great!  I could meet a whole bunch of sohc riders in the Dallas area!  Where would I take the handoff, Lubbock, from who?  Any day of the week is fine, my work schedule is flexible.  Now that I have chimed in, give me some feedback, here on the board or my email, jcarthel@hotmail.com                 Justin in Lubbock

From what I am reading, we have a gap from Phoenix to Lubbock.  Early on in the planning last year, we had some NM riders signed on for the relay, but they later dropped out.  I remember one was named Greg, who lived in Santa Fe, NM,  I don't remember the other NM riders who had to drop out.  Scottly or anyone, have yall heard from Greg or anyone in NM?  Has anyone attempted to contact any NM forum members?  I feel we need to send personal messages to all the NM sohc members asking some of these guys to step up to the plate!  Scottly, anyone, can you guys start sending personal messeges to the forums members in NM?  I would try to help with that if someone would get the ball rolling.  Justin in Lubbock

Hi Justin....welcome back. Yes, the Rally is a little different this year, starting in Cali and heading East.
We know of one NM member and Scottly has PM'ed him and another has apparently signed on.
Hang tight, we'll get you GZ somehow and ask that you ride to Dallas area and hook with CBGhia (Joe).
Stay tuned...

Justin,
You are correct, we are starting from CA this year. We definitely are hurting for NM riders, and members are difficult to sort by location. The only way I know of is the member map, which never shows the same information twice! Refreshing the map shows different data than the page before. I was able to find the following members and have reached out to them via PM:

angeldeville; medic09; SigEpRider; Tete; hesselfuzz; Barlow; manguy; Isleyba1; ttarmijo; gregimotis; gregnsan

Anyone aware of other NM riders be sure to reach out to them. Stay tuned!

Welcome back! Looks like the route through OK will come from coke in AR this time around and up through KS towards CO. Thought we'd mix it up a little this time!  8)
