Cool. GZ is in Estes. Wes called a little bit ago. I'll be back online later tonight then in the AM before I leave. Thanks for doing the room.

We stopped into the estes visitors center and they said Trail Ridge Road IS CLOSED from Many Parks Curve to Miller Pass due to snow. They said it might open tomorrow morning. Call 970.586.1222 to find out. We should decide early tomorrow if we need to change our meetup and route. Could Idaho Springs be an alternative meetup?

I guess if we need to scrap trail ridge, Idaho springs would be a good meetup. Not a bad run over to 40.

I called the number. It says it's closed indefinitely. I don't know if they got weather up there today but I'd be surprised if its clear by tomorrow.

Our crew is up for whatever. We just reserved a room in estes for tonight and saturday night. So if we could arrange a handoff location that would allow me and my friends to get back to estes saturday evening that would be ideal

My take - seasonally open but weather/snow caused a brief closure. What's the weather up there now? How do the skies look? What's the temp? We would be riding at mid-day when it's the warmest and the sun is the highest. Roads should be clear. Estes Park weather forecast looked fine but I'm on my computer at home. I'll be in Denver at 10am in the morning. CO guys can meet in Denver and get in touch with NE guys around 10-10:30am and create a plan. NE guys can check at the visitor center or at the toll booth in the morning before we call. Now, should we have to take an alternate route, Idaho Springs would be fine. McDonalds. I don't have a problem making a run for Trail Ridge Road at this point but I'm just one guy. Definitely better than last year. If ID Spr happens NE guys could ride the Peak to Peak Hwy from Estes to ID Spr. Great ride.  Hwy 7 and 72.

Just spoke with Paul. I will leave here ~ 8:45 and meet him ~ 9:30'ish. We will call NE guys and see what the report is. They should check the visitor center &/or toll booth for status before we call. Terry will be working with Craig on meeting up. We will also call Terry when Paul & I hook up and set a meeting point with them.

The employees at the visitor center said that the info from the phone number will be the most current info. I can call it at 9am and check at the visitor center too. I told them our plans and they suggested the peak to peak run to meet the CO crew if TRR doesnt open.

Just drove from work in firestone and it was drizly and very foggy till
I got to burbs.  web site is showing trail ridge still closed.  Maybe to save waiting around for weather we should all meet here and head up I-70.  Be a earlier start.
Estes guys could come down and meet me and craig (we are right off I-25 easy to get to map on profile) and we could leave and meet Jerry Paul around 470 & 70 to save them time.  Going to lay down and try to sleep a couple hrs.  someone call at 8:30 and give me a clue.   303-374-4029

Let's see about TRR. Gotta get ready to fire her up. IF we have to take I-70 we should meet in Idaho Springs so the NE guys can have a better ride, save them time, plus they won't have to ride through horrid Denver. Terry, we'll call you when I meet Paul and go from there. Guys, keep checking on TRR. You've never done it and right now it should be #1 on your list!! Not to be missed if you have an opportunity. Bye

Had a GREAT time riding with the CO crew and trail ridge road was amazing. Shot some video with the GoPro hope to have it on the internet soon. Good to hear the other riders made it to Craig fine. Great group of riders, hope we get the chance to hangout again

I heard from Proto that he would not be riding with GZ tomorrow but rather later in the week. That being the case, I think I'll be skipping the trip up to Craig for breakfast and a Sunday ride. :-[ Just as well, as the wind today made every mile I rode a real wrestling match.

I'm back in Colorado Springs. Home at 3:30. 275 miles today. Craig and I split off and took US40 south to I-70 while Terry and Paul didn't get enough of Trail Ridge Road yesterday. Craig and I needed to get back a little quicker too. AND....  I was friggen cold and wanted to warm up some rather than go across a barren 12,183' high road with nasty COLD wind.

Great time guys. Wes, Eric and Princess, great meeting and hanging! Hope your trip home is safe and WARM! Dave, you too. Thanks for the DD stint. That sure helped (get me more loaded!)  ;D And as always it's good to hang with my homies.

Looking forward to seeing some pics and vids when you guys get them posted.

Kudos everyone!

Proto, glad you were able to go another leg like you wanted.  8)

coke, what can I say... Holy Cow!   :o :o  8)

Jerry/cb650, what... no sleet/snow/freezing rain this time? I was hoping the late May time frame would be better weather-wise as opposed to late April/early May that you guys had to work with last year.  ;)

You're coming up on a "buy" week built into the route/schedule to help get "over the hump" (that the rest of us call the Rocky Mountains) and to help make the turn through the Pacific Northwest. Continue to ride safe and keep the ride reports coming!  ;D
