Unfortunately, just prior to launch, some of the younger NASA engineers decided to do some last minute "mods" on Curiosity.  Fat tires, clubmans, no baffles and pods.  Friggin' thing looks cool as hell but now it won't start!

I have just been looking at the pics from Viking1 and Curiosity for the past hour. Just amazing stuff. I cant get enough of it. Imagine being in that control room?

Wonder if they removed the center-stand for weight reduction and higher HP yields... ::)

In other news, I haven't really been following this expedition beyond news clips here and there, but these pictures (the real ones ;) ) are great!

Probably labeled a sandcast.  ;)

I hated to see the NASA funding cuts. Always liked following their efforts. This may be the last biggie, unless they find something truly significant.
We'll all be someone else's PO some day.

We shoulda put GZ on the Curiosity and made a real inter-galactic relay. I think he could take it, he's been to Australia and back.
