Rain sucks
« on: September 04, 2012, 07:04:56 PM »

So I planned six months ago to be off this week.  My work is that way.  And so far I've had five days of rain.  It's not supposed to be this way.

Here comes the wetherman saying the sun is two days away.

Does anyone know the difference between scatterd t-storms and isolated t-storms?  Is an isolated t-storm dryer than a scattered t-storm?

Someone send the sunny sky, please.  And ponchos, please.

Would be happy to trade with ya. Hasn't rained here in 2-3 weeks, and the forecast is 100* with no chance of rain all week. The local lake is very low and our water bill was $145 last month, a lot higher than normal due to irrigation of the landscape.  And there are watering restrictions, only twice a week is allowed.
Relief is in sight, a cold front this weekend! 30% chance of rain and high of only 90*...

Thanks Stev-o, but that's a bit of  drive.  The weather is just weird here, more than unpredictable.  Sunny and calm, and then wham, pouring.   These are my riding days, put away for months.

We had a cloudburst here yesterday and then the sun was shining a couple hours later. If you can get behind the front you might be ok, or maybe not. :-\

We travelled on your newer I-68 a while back but had rough weather. I'd like to try that again on a sunny day.

That's a nice road actually. Lot of hills and views, bit like Bavarian Autobahn.

Afternoon weather looks good to the north and west of Baltimore then another front moving in from Ohio/Kentucky. Better get going mOOntan!

I think some of the bad weather is remnants of Isaac.

Detroit to DC is a 500 mile haul in the Impala.
Add 50 miles and an hour for I68.
Probably 2 hard days for me on the CB.
An hour and a half on Southwest!

Cool, I lament my misery here and you send me sunshine.

Road until my buns got sore and when I got home, my new seat was there  A factory new seat for a 38 year old motorcycle.  Life on Visa is good.

Steve, I will let you know.

I have to have the factory seat because I spent four years on the back going to school until I got my own license.  It's a nostalgia thing.

But those seats are damn hard.  My buns might not share my interest.  I gotta test ride some time.

Scattered T-storms would be part of a larger storm front and isolated T-storms would be localized events.  I would tend to ignore the forecast for isolated T-storm but take the other one a bit more seriously.  Or another way to look at it is scattered has a 1 in 2 chance of getting wet while isolated may be 1 in 4.

Well, I'm not satisfied with the sexy new seat.  It's too high and very sticky.   And I like things between my legs to be a bit slippery.  It's beautiful, but it might not fit me.

The old one seems to be shaved to give a better footing.  And I think it might be a professional custom, looking at the stitching.

Moon, got a new factory seat for my 750K6 right after I got in 2009. The PO had a Mustang seat on it, comfortable but dang ugly. I really like mine and pretty comfortable for a factory seat. Several months ago I rode to the BRParkway, 400 miles or so and my a$$ was fine. It does sit a little high I agree, but you can have the foam cut down and modified some to fit your backside a little better.
