mounting engine on engine stand

hey guys

anybody tried this with the CB750 engine. I want to mount it up so I can put it on my engine stand for working on and painting etc. they way you would do it is fab brackets to the REAR engine mount points on the motor and it would then hang on the stand by them. you can then rotate the engine etc to work on it. I have done it with my CBX motors with no problems, it looks scary but the CBX community does it and there is no problems. I have had one on my stand for over a year rolling it around my garage. do you think the CB750 mounting points are strong enough like the CBX ones. I have attached a couple pics to show what I mean. any thoughts would be much appreciated.

What thickness are you guys using for angle tabs? I'm planning to go out and get some this week in order to mount my CB550 engine to a stand like this next weekend.

I think it's wise to design it so you can remove the lower case while the engine's on the stand. Just synch the adjuster, roll it over & pull the lower mounting bolt. I made it adjustable enough to work for most bike engines.

I'm sure you will find several ideas if you do a search around here.
