Front Brake Pipe
« on: January 18, 2015, 09:28:01 AM »
Hey guys, I have looked around on the web for a little while now and have come up empty handed.  I need to replace my Front brake pipe as I have somehow managed to put a kink in it (I really blame my brother though), it is item #13 in the link below:
http://www.partzilla.com/parts/search/Honda/Motorcycle/1978/CB750A+A/FRONT+BRAKE+CALIPER/parts.html

Does anyone know where I could purchase one?

I did find the pipe for other 750's - I am unsure if it has the same fitment for our A's or not.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Honda-New-750-Brake-Line-Pipe-450-500-550-CB750K-CB750F-45128-323-020-/330864333421?pt=Motorcycles_Parts_Accessories&hash=item4d090d126d&vxp=mtr

I have found a place where they have the correct fittings, I have emailed them about the possibility of ordering a small order of them:
http://www.brakequip.com/products/automotive-fittings/tube-nuts

Ours is the M10x1.25 Male Tube Nut.
Thanks in advance!

Well, as a backup plan (maybe the best solution anyways) I am having my machinist friend make a couple of the bolts tomorrow when he's at work too.

If the fittings are still OK, take them and the old tube to any good auto repair shop. They'll be able to make you a new one and flare the ends using the old fittings. Shouldn't be very expensive.

I would do that, yes, but the one fitting on the caliper side of it is pretty bad.  The line side is good though.

Looks a lot like the caliper pipe on my 78 K, which is still available through Honda. For ten bucks it might be worth a look.

Yeah, you're probably right, I should just get one from fleaBay and see if it works for the $10.  I will give that a shot and keep everyone informed of the fit/function.

Service Honda has the brake pipe for $8.26 (plus shipping) for the 78 CB750K model. Part #45128-323-020. If its too long, a good brake shop could cut and flare to length. If it's too short, at least the flare nuts should be the same and a custom pipe could be fabbed using those ends.
