Is this a realistic expectation?

Not to sound like an idiot but when he shifts in the video it looks like he double throttles it???? If that makes sense. He revs it slightly before letting the clutch engage. What does this do?

I have a go pro and I just purchased a Sena 10C.  the 10C is a camera and  bluetooth communication device (its pretty crazy what all this sena does).  I don't generally use the video feature. I like the camera.  But the video on the Sena has a tagging feature (which will probably see me using this feature).  You keep the camera running and when you get to an area you actually want to film you tagg it and it captures the minute prior to tagging, another minute since tagging and one past.  So you only end up with 3 minutes that are saved rather than plowing though a bunch of useless video.  I like the low profile of it (I always felt like a martian with the go pro on my helmet).  I do, however believe that the quality of camera/video is better on the Go Pro but I'm not complaining.  Its not going into a museum.

This is an inexpensive action camera that is getting a lot of attention. The firmware was just updated to allow 2k resolution.http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?O=&sku=1170323&gclid=CK6ykJjL4scCFZKDaQodsjoGQA&is=REG&m=Y&A=details&Q=

Good hint!
If the videos are true, no fakes I should not choose GoPro
Google 'Xiaomi Yi Sport Camera + test vs gopro' and find youtube videos that Xiaomi Yi Sport Camera + test vs gopro
When I did that I found another camera: SJ4000
SJ4000 might be another contender.

I like the tube design. The low price of Xiaomi Yi and SJ4000 is a good reason to not spend a lot though.
EDIT: This look OK.

I also think Mooshie is on to something with the Sena 10c and the tagging feature.  I can see where plowing through a whole bunch of footage can be a real chore.

Not sure how tagging works though.  It that geo tagging?

Triggering/remote seems like a key feature to get the shots you want without too much haste.

SJ4000 might be another contender.

I bought an SJ5000 for my Victoria to Saskatoon trip. Took excellent video and really great photos! For about 60 minutes. It simple would not work after that. 10 minute startup time, then it would freeze when I pushed a button. Tried upgrading firmware but it didn't help. Eventually it would not boot at all. Absolute garbage. Had I done my research I would have found the many people complaining about the same issue.

Don't buy anything from SJCAM.

Man even Garmin is in the game.  They have a gps built into theirs.  Some good reviews.  More aerodynamic than the "brick on the stick"

The more I read the more it looks like gopro is pricing itself out of business.  This is really a $100 product IMO...

Damn that's cheap for the resolution and other specs.

I've heard about the Sena.  You can control a host of functions.  A buddy of mine did a ride video and it even showed an overlay of our trip route and where were were on the map.

I decided to pull the trigger on a Sena Prism today. Here's a link to a guy comparing the Prism to a GoPro Hero 3+:

Revzilla currently offers the Prism at $179, and at that price it comes with a waterproof housing, rechargeable battery, and all mounts necessary to attach it to a helmet. They have another kit priced at $249 that comes with every mounting accessory possible, and all this is still cheaper than a GoPro. The biggest advantage is Sena's Bluetooth capabilities, and that it'll allow me to connect the camera to my Sena SMH10 I've already got installed on my helmet.

The tagging works by turning on the video and ride.  Then when you hit an area that is spectacular you hit the video button again and it saves the minute BEFORE you hit the camera, and the minute since you hit the camera and one minute beyond that.  So a total of 3 minutes.  It saves those 3 minutes then keep going and erasing old worthless footage until you hit the camera again.  Then when the ride is done you download your 3 minutes "spurts" and post just that instead of sorting through an 8 hour ride.  I love this thing.  I think I may sell my GoPro I don't really see a need for it.  Also you need 3 batteries for a ride with the gopro.  On the Sena 10C one and done all day ride and it does so much more.  Its a great little device

Ok guys stay tuned.  I got me a SJ4000 Cam from amazon.com, the real one not the clone, and I must say so far I love this thing!  Feels well constructed and comes with tons of mounts.  You do need to sand the mount tabs as they are slick pvc and will slide all over if you don't and leave your cam pointed at the road or clouds.

I went with the SJ4000 for the mounts and the little LCD on the back that lets you position the cam.  Was going with the xiaomi yi, but the LCD is what put it over the top.  The xiaomi yi has the 1080p 60fps, but I am under the impression you need good editing software to take advantage of the extra fps?

Will get up some footage latter.  You can't go wrong with these little action cams much better than a big camera and if you wreck it you are not out $300 to $300 bucks.

Right now I am using OpenShot on Ubuntu linux would like to know what others are using to edit their videos.

Check this out.
Made it with a sj4000 cam the real one.  Edited with OpenShot on Ubuntu 14.  I am really happy with the way it came out considering I have never done any video editing before.  Openshot made trimming up the clips a breeze.  Was able to use and export to youtube.

I love this little camera.  It is so light weigh compared to a point and shoot or DSLR.  The 170 degree field of vision captures everything so no need worry about being in the shot.

Just another reason why this forum rocks!  Thanks Guys.  Maybe the contour boys will post up some footage so we can see how it compares to the brick cams.

Nice video quality but I've never understood the selfie pole mount, especially while riding a motorcycle. I hope that was a one time idea for the purpose of testing video quality only. Sure would get you a nasty fine and driver penalty points in these parts.

Sorry to disappoint, got rogain on order to regrow the fur.  Make sure you get the one that says sj4000 cam and not sj4000.  Kinda funny since the sj4000 cam is a go pro clone and they are making clones of clones.  Yeah, that just doesn't work out so good.

I am happy with it.  It has wifi to connect to your android phone too.
