POP'S,  I'll take it if Frank don't want/need it,  thanks,  Bill

I'll step aside on that long arm Bill. I'm trying to set up a mono shock on the F model project and Pops arm is for dual shocks. I am getting that shorter arm from Pops though. Its going on another bike I plan to get ready for this season.

That arm will help to extend at least one of your bikes and allow you to use shocks instead of those dang struts.

FRANK in the 10's : Gets the chrome moly =air in swing arm, long to mount in a spare bike he is building, no dollars just a barter for wrench spinning..... he also is getting a 1976 cb750A beater to show the folks how to win on a beater [ FRANK TUNED ] in the 1320'. We won't even talk about my KZ's that he could be spinning on ST/ET, S/EL, PRO/ET bars ,no bars, slicks or street tire, all foot shifting under full power on 12 volt kill. Let's not forget the 1989 NT 650 HAWK GT for the V-TWIN CLASS short's, highest setting bike I ever rode in many past years, my sons had dirt bike 25-35 years ago, I got to ride slammed= Right Frank ??

Here you go Bill,

The  29" long arm is available for a great price. Pops offered me first shot at the shorter, 26" arm.
Plan to use it on a K model street bike.

Pops sent me an email saying all the dimensions were posted above on the 29" arm but I can't find them. Do you know the pivot width and wheel width?

I never asked for details on the longer arm, so the only thing Pops posted was the length for that one.

I figured our buddy Bill would get Demey Edinger ( DME) to build him a custom arm.

Me too! He's headed there this weekend. Have not worked 1 second on anything for myself - yet. Thought maybe the round arm would get me a jump start on frame assembly. Been working on other peoples' stuff and only had time to be collecting parts for mine. Fixing to change that. Only have 2 jobs left to finish. Both should ship next week. Yeh!!!  ;D  ;)  8)

Damn, that's purdy  ;D

So I crank the 1000 and now you post this. You gonna make me use the 1080 pistons in the other engine?  ;) At this rate you better give the boot to Donnie so I'll have a bedroom.  :D  It'd be a helluva lot easier......  :) :)

MADMTNMOTORS  you can't miss this [ same swing arm you looked at in the back of my truck at Valdosta ] had both their with NO TAKERS !!!  SWING ARM: 28" axel to front hole center to center.  Axel 20mm thick. 8 3/4" between the rear mounts adjusters.   Front mount  9 1/4 "wide w/slide in bushings 16mm hole'
42mm round stock side rails, braced on top.  Middle  brace 34mm round. Front brace flat on  top and bottom welded back 7". weight 15lbs total [ stock F arm 10lbs W/ no axel or adjusters ] all the nuts, bolts, adjusters arm painted gloss BLACK.

Thanks, Pops. Now I remember, beautiful swing arm, but a bit too narrow at the axle for me.

Yes my arms are generally 10 3/8 -10 1/2 at the axle, and the swingarm bolt is only 13-14mm (don't remember) on a SOHC frame.

Small 13-14mm swing arm bolt stock = this arms has 16mm bolt takes the twisting out with a big HP motor made for a "GOT BRUCE" KZ 1500CC motor.  Not made for a car tire 10-10.5 bike = never seen a SOHC 750 based bike with a car tire, maybe GEORGE or BILL'S mountain  motors 1080cc could run a car tire ???  Built for longer ST/ET bike shock mount or struts with wheelie bar mounts for PRO-ET w/ rear wheel bigger axel = no bending. Turbo D you never bent a axel on those big motor turbo bikes ???? My son in law the machinist made many CUSTOM new ones for the many KZ & GS racers in my location. Those stock axel were not the best material you can buy for high HP. You could make new smaller slide in 13-14mm bushings for your stock mounting bolts, but why the strong arm with weaker mounting points ????

POPS you or anyone here can certainly do what you like. I have personally put a number of 5.5" GSXR and 6" PM wheels on these old SOHC bikes the past few seasons and know what is required.

A 100HP ish SOHC is not too demanding, The stock size pivot bolt is fine especially running anything less than a large slick.  If you drill the stock frame out to use a 16mm bolt, there is nothing left of the mounting boss.

To mount anything much larger than a stock based wheel, the area between the swingarm at the axle needs to be 9.5" or wider, a GXSR or PM rim will need at least 10" to somewhat center the wheel up. A person might get by with less, but the wheel will not be centered correctly.

Pretty sure the stock swing arm with drum brake is 9-7/16" at the axle.
Pretty sure the stock swing arm with disc brake is 10-7/16" at the axle.

I can't imagine too many reasons to go beyond a 5.5x18 slick on a single engine sohc dragbike.  I had a nice conversation with Gary Pena the other day and his sub 8.50 runs on a shot of nitrous(with nitrous hit off the line) was done on a 5.5x18 off the shelf motorcycle slick, M/T ET Drag I believe.  He reported no traction issues with a VERY lightweight bike.

That's FAR faster than anything I have going...

A 4.5x18 rim is about ideal for such a slick, up to about 5.5x18.

I could perhaps see going with a 7" slick strictly for the extra traction "insurance" since dead on repeatability is more important than a slight drag/weight increase of the bigger wheel/tire for bracket racing purposes.

Regardless, a 5.5x18 MT ET Drag is my plan.  I do have the space, offset capability, and wheel sized to run a 7" slick, but I'm not expecting that to be necessary or justifiable.

Thats what I am running a MT ET drag  5.5x18 but its on a 3.5x18 wheel.  Leaves a slight amount of the outside untouched but still have no traction issues.  Only reason I have the 3.5 wheel is that is how the bike came setup when I bought it and it worked for the previous owner very well also with no traction issues.

5.5" worked for me when I was running a slick on my F model. Low 1.40 sixty foot times without a bar with shocks of course.
