I wonder what "Dear Abby" thought about the motorcycle related posting on her forum...

 ;)  ;D

She was happy for the change of pace.  Don't think she's a biker?

If she's fine....make & maintain eye contact. Smile and just say " Hey you dropped your list" When she says thank you say "no problem" and give her a quick wink. Or.......you could be a little more ballsy and say "hey babe...you dropped this"!
On the other hand if she's a doggy..... grab the list with 2 fingers and hold it out there like it's a turd and say "you dropped this" and whatever you do....DON'T make eye contact!! ;D

I will never forgot how my Uncle Chuck greeted my high school sweetheart at my high school graduation party.  Now my Uncle Chuck was a big burly man  and he went up to us and gave her a giant bear hug, lifting her feet off the ground and gave her a big kiss right on the lips!

Everyone loved it and I think my girlfriend was cool about it.  He was so calm and confident that it was just not a big deal.  He was the type of person who just made you love him.  It was not really an option you just did.

His funeral was held at the volunteer fire department where he was chief for over 20 years and there were so many people at the fire hall, the hall could not contain them all, and people were lined up out the door.

To this day I do not know who I miss more my high schools sweetheart or my Uncle Chuck.

I still remember colleague from my former job.  He was from Boston and they sent him to Atlanta for 5 days:

"I dont want to talk to you if the morning is good or nice, just shutup and give me my coffee." - was about the gist of his Atlanta Omni Hotel experience. ;D ;D

I guess you could stop shopping at brick and mortar stores and survive by online only, Dave. Then you would avoid all those embarrassing and socially awkward moments that Yankee Heathens like you don't know how to navigate!  ;D You must be filled with perseverance to go on with your life, things being stacked up against you as they are: Young, from CT, and can't tell a lady from a working girl... Geez, if i could get my hands on you, over my knee you'd go for a good old fashioned, back-o-the-shed disciplining!!!  8)

Haha! Yeah I'm surprised I lasted this long without some sort of breakdown. Maybe I've mistakenly used Seinfeld to help decipher what I don't understand about social situations.

If taking social cues from Signfield I would pick Jerry as your coach and not George. ha,ha,ha  Forget Cal he will take you to the woodshed if you are late to Cotillion class.

On a second thought if your girl gets all her princess fantasies out in Cotillion it could save thousands on a wedding.  You could use the savings to build a garage that would make Jay Leno blush.  That Cal is one smart dude.  Just don't be late for class as I hear the trip to the woodshed is rather unpleasant.

I guess I use Ma'am a lot after my up bringing in the RCAF there was a lady officer that tore a rather large strip off of me for calling her sir so I've gotten into the habit of "yes ma'am" for any one older than 14, Oh the  airforce I liken it to finishing school for hooligans, all social situations had an Q,RO's Queens regulation number. Everything from tooth brush for the use of to greeting the royals to receive a gong.

That sound like a challenge!  Let me know when you want to go up against Pop-A-Wheelie.  We'll see who is an old timer.  I will have put a couple laps around you by the time the foam on your triple, caramel, macchiato, espresso settles down.

Sheila, Molly, Dame, Chick, Lady, Caileen, Babe, just don't call her Slag.

As to the original question - how would one differentiate the female from a small crowd (the feminine version of "Hey Dude") . . . There is no feminine version, it would have to be Miss, Ma'am, or - again - "Excuse me?" directed at the woman in question.

Always use ma'am or sir regardless of age/ marital status.  Get some odd looks from kids/ teens/ even young adults sometimes but never noticed anyone being truly offended.

Dang I wish I could get back the time in my life it took me to read through this post.  :o You guys have way too much time on your hands.

Just reach down and pick up the note and hand it to her. If she says thank you, say you're welcome. If she doesn't thank you, say you're welcome. If she hands you a phone number then call me. :)

Look at Chewy stumbling through the hipster coffee lingo! But seriously, Chew, it's a grande, half-caff, breve soy, double pump vanilla frappucino. After all, Dave is a Unser and those young'uns like their coffee Slurpees. At least he's stop using a Sippy cup in public  ;D

Ha, an Unser. Maybe at heart not in skill.
