And none too soon! Only regret is that I wish I had started sooner!

Fantastic weekend all around, starting on Friday morning waiting for test-n-tune to start:

Of course, most of our time is spent "bench racing":

Frank's bike along with the others:

Bikes in attendance on Friday:

Sam Auto II (not running yet, but close!):

Calendar Girl (running good!):

Frank's SET entry (running real good!):

My own project "Evolution" has evolved into a drag racer (notice the dial in starting to creep down from 14.98 in earlier photo):

Late Friday, shadows are getting long, waiting for our qualifying runs which finally occurred just before the 11:00 PM curfew:

More bench racing on Saturday. Larry showed up! Oh, yeah, Big Jay from A.P.E. was there too  ;) :

The Saturday crew:

Larry brought his bike up Saturday to compete! Arrived too late for Saturday racing, but got his bike teched for Sunday. Later that night Larry was called away and did not get to race... DAMMIT!:

Mark made it up on Saturday too! Here he is supervising "Hollywood" Bill who you probably wouldn't recognize unless he had a wrench in his hands...:

Sunset at the track Saturday night while we wait for Street ET round two that finally started about 8:00 PM (first round was at 9:30 AM). Beautiful sunset, with tire smoke and nitro-methane wafting through the air... it just doesn't get any better:

And finally, you'll notice another drop in my dial in as a result of my first round break out elimination on Sunday (oh yeah, I red lighted too):

I'll take real racing over bench racing any day!  8)

Man that is looking like a lot of fun, except the Hurry Up and Wait part.

Here is a couple pics of me back in the day, and 1080 with the wheelie bar..

Bill, I'm going to send you the link to the portable shower enclosure and hot water heater. If you don't have it by the next camping race, I'm not going to visit your trailer and will be standing up wind whenever you're close by. Lol

It's sure easy to get a bit ripe wearing heavy leathers for hours on end. :o.  Funny I was thinking about getting set up with one of those solar camping showers for my race trailer.  You had power hookup avaliable?  Were there showers available on site?  Just curious.

He should be home if he didn't get stuck in Atlanta (plane change). Haven't talked to him since I put him on a plane in Panama City, heading home about 11:30 this morning.

Hope you get an "all's clear" soon, brother.

Mike,

Crap.  That stinks.  You flew all the way down there and this happens.  Haven't I warned you that those southerners have it out for us yanks... ;)  They probably poisoned you...

I called earlier and didn't get you.  My crazy thoughts can wait.  Reach out when you feel up to it, and maybe after a stiff drink....  (the new motor us just fine, it's not about that ::) )

Feel better friend,

George

There were power hookups on the opposite side of the track from where Bill was pitted. You can use all the power you want to the tune of $175. Lol.  No showers at this track.

Not all that stay at the track friendly I guess, unless you're hauling a big RV around or are cool with roughing it.  I enjoy minimalist camping, but I have grown accustomed to regular showers when available.

Thanks for the support my brothers. I am on the cardic floor at Beth Israel hospital in Boston. Apparently I have excessive fluid between my heart and the pericardium (sack surrounding the heart). It makes it more difficult for the heart to pump which explains my run down feeling/fatigue , shoulder pain and other symptoms. I'll be here for a few days as they try to figure what caused it and ultimate treatment.
I wasn't much fun at Valdosta......I apologize for that guys. I'll have to make it up to you next year.

Glad you're getting fixed up bro. Remember what I told you! You had a couple of us concerned for just that reason. No steaks while in the hospital.  ;) May have been that salty steak meals we did. My legs puffed up a bit and I finally stopped pissing extra yesterday due to the fluid retention the salt caused.

Since Sam went home, I've been lonely for some SOHC fraternal bonding. Perhaps I'll come on up and spend some time in the lounge chair whilst you recover. The food has to better in Boston than it was here in Richmond (poor Sam almost withered away on it).

I am on the cardic floor at Beth Israel hospital in Boston.
Since Sam went home, I've been lonely for some SOHC fraternal bonding. Perhaps I'll come on up and spend some time in the lounge chair whilst you recover. The food has to better in Boston than it was here in Richmond (poor Sam almost withered away on it).

Sam has put on 42lbs since you last saw him, haha I'm 168lbs now and have had to buy new clothes as I can't get into my old ones, I've never been this heavy in my whole life.
Get well soon Murphy.

Sam. ;)
