Wiring up the Generator

In the process of putting things together again after timing the cam.  Too many wires.  There are two bundles coming out of the generator.  One bundle has the three yellows and is obvious.  The other bundle has two wires, a green one already hooked up and what looks like a yellow or gold one.  The two open connections to choose from are a yellow and a blue with a pink stripe.  These are my wife's colors in that I'm color blind.  From the looks of the fit, it looks like the two yellows should hook up and the blue/pink would hook up to the brown one that seems to disappear into the starter motor area.  Any help would be REALLY appreciated.

Yikes! Be sure to take a little extra care. You can give the insulation on the ends of the wires a little shot of brake cleaner to help reveal their true colors.

The three yellows are typically bundled together, and the white and green are usually bundled together too. The three yellow are from the stator, while the white and green are from the field coil.

on a 500/550 its like this..the 3 yellow vires..konnekt to the other 3 yellow...vhite and green to White and green...that is all ...rest(2 vires) is oil pressure indikator and gear indikator
