We'll be in Memphis,  just not racing! Doc and others say no go, too soon, open wounds still and weak etc. Just damn, almost felt sorry for myself then thought of Nicky....it'll be ok, I'll tech, get the minimum points , help others, socialize and try to enjoy as much as possible without racing.....as you can see in pic, still got some parts to install,  Elan's kit, Frank 754's kit, Honda oem M/C kit, not sure what's in the box instead of the 4th letter of the alphabet,  how about the 6th? Lol, Frank, I WOULD  have been ready, but no wrenching since 4/25....damn, we'll get to line up next to each other in Galot! Until then g'luck to you and all you others participating,  Bill

That's not such good news Bill. I was hoping for a full release report.😒

Continue with your rehab program. The racing will wait.

Were you in Tucson I could recommend a great hand surgeon and excellent Physical Therapist who was fun to interact with as she inflicted pain and torture like a good Physical Terrorist, er Therapist. She actually is a hand specialist as she has additional course work but I don't know if the certify for that specialization.  Jen was very very good and fun and funny.  She could always bring a smile to my lips and helped me rehab a few joints and problems I had while in Tucson.

You don't want to overdo it Bill, you can really have a setback and you don't want to tear something causing more scar tissue to develop along with the delays in healing.

Studies have shown that a good pain management regime is a good way to speed the healing process.  So, you don't want to tough it out or your body actually slows the healing process.
Better to have very little pain than just tough it out.
I have had surgery a few times on my right wrist and hand and they seem to take way longer than you would think to heal and you don't realize how much you use them until you are forced to not use them a while.
I know it sucks not being able to do what you love doing...

Hang in there and take care of yourself and try to enjoy the spring/summer weather until you are released to resume.
Keep a journal and you can reflect on it and see the progress over time and even record what kinds of things you can't do or would do.  As long as you look at the bright side and don't dwell on the negatives but focus on the improvements you can keep your spirits up.  That helps healing too.

Good luck guys!

Speedy healing Bill.  You taking any multi-vitamins and B-complex to help nerve regrowth/repair?  It can help, hopefully something your doctor has addressed. Better to get it by eating healthy but usually does not hurt to use the vitamin supplements.

BILL: If you had your Yellow 10 second Hondamatic up to the task you would only need your right hand to twist out a 10 second CB750 based run on the 1320!

Hey Billy, at the least you will have more bike prep time and won't need to wrench up until first call.  ;) And probably even have the second bike race ready too. Not a bad thing, just get healed bro!

How's Baby Face doing?

Babyface is looking good.  A little battered on that ear, but still looking pretty good.  Great companion and protector.

Neighbors were dog sitting yesterday for a friend and one of their dogs has become an escape artist since last year.  Going under the chain link fence between our yards.  He has dug his way out many times, often a couple times a day until they lock him in his kennel, a small dog...  Apparently the roaming spirit has struck him and he has a wanderlust.  He doesn't run off, usually shows up at their front door when he is ready to return.

Now if you teach BabyFace to wrench on the bike for you then it is one less needed on the pit crew.

Have fun talking with the Flash Gordon of cb750 racing..

Weather forecast is looking pretty grim for next weekend in Memphis. Thunderstorms - 80% Sat, 60% Sun.  :(
Gonna keep an eye on it. Glad I bought refundable tickets.  ;)  Gotta make the call by Wednesday.

I haven't been on my bike since the Cup race in April. Decided to participate in an event at the North Myrtle Beach Dragway yesterday to help prepare for the Memphis race. Made it to the 3rd round when the bike spun really bad off the line from fluids on the track. I lost a lot of time in the 60' and couldn't recover down track and lost. On a positive note, I discovered that the bike was running a little crappy. Seems to be the similar problem I had last year about this same time.  I've got to pull the carbs and clean them again. I'll install a inline filter this go round. Can't complain because I've never had carb issues since the bike was built 20 years ago. Hopefully I'll have time to complete the work by Friday night.

I remember last year at Memphis we had some rain during the overnight hours. The next day there was about a two hour delay because water was still seeping up through the track surface and we had nowhere near the amount of rain that they've already had and the forecast calls for a lot more. It ain't looking pretty...   :(

Forecast this morning is 80% Sat and 80% Sun.  :(
I'm pulling the plug on me. Can't see 2 solid days of BBQ!  ;)
Hope they're wrong for everyone else's sake.

I'm out also guys. I cannot justify driving 10 plus hours having an 80-90% chance of rain hanging over my head. I love to race but I've got to draw the line on this one. Like Keith, I hope I'm wrong for the sake of others in thinking it'll be a washout. For anyone pushing ahead, be safe on the roads and good luck at the races.

I think I'm heading up to the $5000 bracket race at Capital Dragway in Maryland.
